Custom Triumph Stag convertible low reserve 

Yes you can buy a stag to suit restoration for $7 to 8K. and that is what I did. but please read up on the extensive work preformed during the restoration as well as the money spent before you bid. I have a low reserve. but no I will not sell it with the $2. 5k wheels for under the already low reerve.

Car was purchased because it had a more reliable motor upgrade. having dealt with the alloy Factory V8 in the past.

The body was stripped down. and rust areas taken back to metal. all rust removed and steel welded in. entire body was not stripped to bare metal. but whole car was prepared for paint. and all lower sections and underneath was stripped back to metal. The colour is British racing green with added pearl base to improve the shine. All panels were aligned better than original. Under carriage was checked with rust to an inner seal also removed and replaced with steel.

All inner panels were rust treated after welding with KO66. exposed areas were sprayed with rust proofing and protection coating.

ENGINE; 1978 Model 231 CID buick V6 (3. 8L) Turbo block. Running custom made extractors. and a holley 350 two barrel. timing is set for turbo. but weights can be changed. drives excellent as it sits. starts and runs sweet from cold. plenty of power with a V8 sound. Exhaust route suits turbo upgrade.

Transmission is a Chev turbo 350 Automatic. built for future power upgrades.

SUSPENSION AND BRAKING; Factory V8 brakes. new springs. new ball joints. tie rod ends. rack bushes and more. diff is still tight. no bearing or brake noises. Power steering from factory.

Wheels. car came in with fake wires. and I loved the look from a distance. so I opted to import genuine multi-spokes which are knock on's. they are fitted with new tyres. investing ear 3K with fittment.

Interior is very tidy and original. dash pad was cracked so covered in carpet. some minor wear hear and there. but very presentable. and seats and door trims are very good. dash wood is due for some varnish. Power windows are working fine.

Soft top is clean and operates as it should; hard top was not restored. but has been painted same colour as the car.

NUMBER PLATES “STAG” are included in the sale price. 3 months SA rego will also be included. car is still registered as a V8. but was converted over 10 years ago.

I have opted to leave it V8. as down the track. values may improve for original cars. a simple inspection is all that is needed to register the car as a 6. as the engine mounts brackets are correctly made. and the transmission sits on the original mount. Motor is same weight and quoted horse power naturally aspirated as it currently sits.

Other upgrades include. stereo unit. new starter motor. automatic thermo fan for improved cooling.
