This is a 1951 Chrylser New Yorker Convertible for Sale.

I'm helping the owner - Richard - sell the car. He is not good with computers.
I am good with computers so I put it up for sale for him.

Please feel free to make an offer through eBay.  We will entertain any

serious offers.  Once someone makes a good enough offer through

eBay. we will accept it and end the auction.

Here is what Richard told me about the car:

Notes about the Car

I have owned this car for 37 years. I still have the certificate of title issued to me on October 28. 1975.

I'm selling it because I just don't drive it anymore.

It has a 331 Hemi Engine. I do not know if it is the original engine.

The VIN: 7165109.

The convertible top is six years old. The 6v top motor was converted to a 12v battery and motor.

It has been always been well cared for and garaged for the entire 37 years I have owned it.

I added a 12 volt tape deck.

It has the original radio. however it does not play.

The interior is 37 years old. but in pretty good shape. The paint is 37 years old. It still looks good. but there are places where it shows its age. There are some scratches on the bottom side of the driver side door. The chrome is not perfect. It looks pretty good from 10-20 feet. but would need redoing if you want it perfect.

The odometer has never worked. It reads 20. 75 miles. I have put an average of 1. 00-1. 00 miles per year on it for the 37 years I've owned it.

It has a 3 speed transmission.

The transmission doesn't shift down. It will shift up through the grears just fine. If you are stopped at a red light you have to shift it down manually to first gear. It has been this way the whole time I have owned it. It doesn't bother me. You don't need to manually shift down. but it will take off slow if you don't.

There is a video showing you this. Please watch it.

I also have several parts that will go with the car. These are the extra parts: rear end. drive shaft. front suspension. rear bumper with guards. original stock 61 hub caps. extra door handles. extra carburetors. front bumper. rear leaf springs. power steering assembly (needs pump). extra chrome parts. a lot of small Chrysler parts. rear axle and pumpkin. radiator guards. long ram intake manifolds for 392 Hemi engine.

The car is located in LaGrange. OH. which is 35 miles southwest of Cleveland.

There is a video below which is about six minutes long. It shows you the outside and inside of the car. It shows you the engine firing up and idling. It shows you the car driving. shifting. You can see and hear the car running from the inside and from the outside. Please watch it!

I know it can be nerve wracking to purchase a car online.

Here are Answers to Questions You Might Have About Buying a Car on eBay:

Q:  I can't see the car in person—what if it is not as described when I get it?

A:  I definitely understand where you are coming from!

Here are a couple things to put your mind at ease:

1. I sent out a professional photographer who has seen the car in person and has reported back to me with high-resolution photos and HD video.

We also made sure to point out any flaws the car may have.

We want to be as honest and forthcoming about the car as possible.  You don't want to buy a car that you are not comfortable with.  You need to know you made a good decision.

If you prefer you can have an independent third party come out and inspect the car and make sure it is as we described.  eBay recommends www. InspectMyRide. com.

Of course you may send a friend or relative out to look at the car. or come and see it in person.

Finally. eBay protects both the buyer and the seller through their program called Vehicle Purchase Protection (VPP).

This program provides protection for transactions that are completed on eBay against fraud and scams.  You can read about it in detail here:  http://pages. motors. ebay. com/buy/purchase-protection.

For example. if you pay for a vehicle and never receive it. you are covered under VPP.

Q: Can I have someone come out and look at the car?

A:  Of course!  We've done the best job we can presenting the car through the photos and videos. but nothing beats seeing the car in person.

Feel free to call me (813-764-6909) to set up a time to come out and see the car yourself. or to send someone to come out and inspect it.

Q: How do I pay for the car?

A:  If you win the auction. here is the standard procedure that most people follow:

Step 1. You make a refundable deposit on the car through eBay and Paypal (just follow the instructions from eBay after the action ends).

Step 2. The owner will email or fax you a copy of the Title. and a signed Bill of Sale.

Step 3.  You send a bank wire to the seller's bank for the remaining balance.

Step 4. You pick up the car immediately after the bank wire is received (which usually takes about 45 minutes from the time you send it).

Or. we can help you make arrangements to have the car shipped to you.
