1965 Ford Galaxie

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Hardtop.  Considered the Muscle Cars of the Galaxie model. the 65 to 68 coupes are the cars we all want. A pillarless hardtop coupe offers that unmistakable cool stance ready for the windows down cruise.

Featuring the big square lines evocative of our space race futures of the 60's. She's a real. still standing. ground pounder.  She is wearing a gorgeous patina of her original paint. chrome and interior. this boulevard brawler is ready to cruise. enjoy or restore further as you prefer.   

Looking for that “little old lady from pasadena” car?  Well. this is pretty close.  Owned by one family since new. she has been in service for more than 50 years.  Four generations of hotrodders kept this Galaxie in top shape and ready to haul at any time.   Known to always start and always get there. she was well loved.  Mechanically refreshed over the years with a crate 302. rebuilt trans and new exhaust system. this girl has been a beloved member of the family.  

Original owners manual and hand written mileage notes are included as are a thick portfolio of service records.

Rarity

1965 was the first of a three year run for the Muscle Car Galaxies.  Fresh styling. stacked headlamps and the new 289 V8 made this one the car to have.  Few Galaxies are left. making them a big draw at the local show and shine.

Exterior

Beautiful Patina over the entire car.  Original Black paint with a White top. she shines up nicely and matches the paint codes exactly. There are nicks and scratches evident of years of enjoyment.   Chrome is weathered and pitted in some places. The car presents beautifully and always draws a crowd.

Floors/Rust damage

Some minor surface rust is evident in the patina. No evidence of collision damage. The floors are California solid and unblemished.  Check the pics. This is a California car and it shows.  Check the photos or better yet. come see the car in person.

Wheels. Tires

18” wheels are fitted with new Achilles Sport tires.  We do have the original wheels. lugs and caps with nice tires if you would prefer the stock appearance.

Engine

302 V8 runs nicely. Freshly serviced.  New accessories. 4BBL carb. Headers.  Oil change and filter. Dual Flowmasters with full tail pipes

Transmission

The automatic transmission is smooth and responsive.

Braking. Steering

Fresh brake service.  Braking is good.  Steering is precise and on point.  

Service

Fresh service. turnkey and ready to go! Coolant. oil. filters. hoses and belts. Brake service. Plugs. points. wires. cap.

Trim

The chrome trim is in good survivor shape. Some pitting and wear can be seen. see pics and video.

Glass

The glass is in good condition for its age.

Interior

Nice original upholstery. headliner and trim. New front seat upholstery.  New replacement carpet kit.  Billet steering wheel.  All windows work. Detailed dash and gauges.

Audio

OEM AM Radio does not work.

Trunk

Excellent condition.  Spare wheel and good tire. Jack and tools.   Solid - A huge trunk by any standard. OEM wheel covers.

Odometer

The odometer show 49963 miles.  The mileage is incorrect as the gauge is beyond its capacity to measure.

Title The title is clear.

Comparables

There are very few comparable Muscle era Galaxies for sale at this time. Factor in the provenance. a running and driving car with fresh updates. and it becomes a very short list.  Given the extreme scarcity of available cars at this price. This Galaxie 500 represents an outstanding value that can be enjoyed immediately as well as being an appreciating investment in automotive art.
