VOLVO 244 GL

If you like this advertisement. please place on your “watch” list so I know you have visited. I will attempt to answer “questions”. some will be made public.   The 244 is for sale ( perhaps less than asking price?). if you are overseas I would like to know you visited. regards Dr Sven.

For Sale: Volvo 244 GL . Cream (yellow) 4 speed Manual. 2. 3 litre 4 Cyl  (Right Hand Drive).   In 2017 it remains much like when it sailed from A. B. Volvo in Sverige in August of 1982.   Uber cool. you can feel hormones surge as soon as you touch the velvet brown interior. it still has the freshness of Scandinavia held within its light filled passenger capsule.

All intact. it has original Log books. Panels. bumpers. interior. motor and gearbox.   Having travelled a mere 250 000kms it still has several more circumnavigations of the earth contained within its mechanical genius. The engine bay is so clean you could eat your dinner off it (refer picture)

The Volvo is not fitted with ANY modern options like Bluetooth. or GPS.   Instead it is fitted with 1982 options like. wind down windows. AM / FM / Cassette deck with 4 Volvo speakers and a fuel injection system last seen on a Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf 109.  

Rarely understood in Australia. This car was designed with the Australian Crash Creation. Damage Avoidance System (ACC. DAS).   External badges for this option were not seen. however. the factory inclusion of a white lawn-bowls hat informed those ‘in the know' about this system.   The cars current condition is a testament to its ongoing operation.   Refer to picture of former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and his messy bicycle ( not a mark on the Volvo!).

Safety has always been the key for Volvo marketing.   The 244 GL has parking lights that do not turn off till the ignition stops. flashing red seatbelt lights to warn polis officers of your mistake and internal fan that operates permanently to stop asphyxiation.   Further. you can exercise your safety consciousness outside your vehicle using a reflective safety hazard triangle. that will even stay upright in snow! (refer to spikes).

Unlike it's clunky Automatic cousins this 244 GL has the power to take you and four lucky passengers flying to the speed limit in the overtaking lane. which helps you avoid those pesky hand gestures often directed at Volvo pilots as they go about minding their own business.

So get an air of superiority now.   Whether it is using a sickle in the wheat fields the US. avoiding a mammoth fallen from a glacier in Europe. or dodging flailing Prime Ministers in Australia: The 244 GL is the car for you!. thank you Dr Sven Kranky. (Australia not Austria).
