Sorry to all watching this car.

This is a very reluctant sale of my Bolwell Mk 7.  
This is an all Holden powered car!  Based on a 1958 - 1962 250 GT  Ferrari Spyder California. from the nose to the rear doors. Bolwell designed the rear!  
The 186 engine has triple 45mm Dellortos and cast iron headers with twin exhaust.  Sounds fierce beyond belief.
Engine block is from a HK  and stamped 186P422773.
The head is stamped 2815843 and cast date is A281. making it cast on on January 28. 1971 and a rare and genuine XU1 head.
Starts on the key. Idles and drives with no noises or smoke.  Compression is great with all cylinders above 170  psi and oil pressure fluctuates to 80 psi on revs.
The transmission is Toyota Supra 5 speed cast iron case.  This car drives and steers. but master brake cylinder and booster need overhaul. as there are no brakes.  Hand brake works well.
The HR holden front end has disc brakes and rack and pinion steering.  all in good condition.
The diff is a modified HR unit and has trailing arm suspension with adjustable coil overs.  Looks and feels tight.
The Lotus Elain style Y  frame chassis is in great condition with no rust or damage.
The body work requires numerous repairs and some cracks in fibreglass.  Easy repairs with todays epoxy and carbon veil. The drivers lower door hinge is badly worn and door drops when opened.  The bonnet requires a complete fibreglass as it has been sand blasted and the gel coat has gone. Not a problem as we were going to reskin in alloy with power bulge similar to a Ferrari 275 GTB 4. Rear boot lid is nicely made with bracing and stand and has drip rail to body.  The top is lifting at corners and needs repairs. Front Cortina indicators show signs of wear and one tailight needs replacing  ( Toyota Crown)
The convertible roof has been nicely made and the bows are adjustable and the roof and rear screen are in very good contion with no rips or tears. Rear carpet in great shape and seat belts mounted to the rear or car.  Roll cage head rests are chromed. and show signs of flaking and rust.
The interior is factory fitted. as it has the Nagari style dash and Lotus Europa style seats with removable padding.  All in great condition with no damage to dash or seats.  The gauges are Smiths . look great and work. but missing the speedo.  ( Im assuming it was left at a shop to get calibrated for the gearbox. )Easy to obtain as MGB or Triumph 2000 type.  Hand brake works well. floor mounted to drivers consul and has remote boot pull on drivers floor.
Wheels are 14" and have rust on chrome and tyres need to go to the tip.
We where going to fully rebuild this and compete in hill climbs. but unfortunately divorce and money is why this car needs to be reluctantly sold.
 Approximately made in 1970.  as it has the factory fitted Nagari style dash and Lotus Europa style seats.  Last registered in 1992. Has previous rego papers and last rego sticker on window.
This is the ultimate six cylinder holden car and rare to see or buy.  ( this took me twenty years to find. and rarer now with XU1 power!!!)
And it sits lower than a Ford GT 40. at 38 inches and weighs 700 kg. great looking car!
This is the ultimate inline Holden Six . mid mounted. 180 hp min and 700 kg.
Also. it is a very comfortable car as I am 6'1". and it has a great steering and braking position.  Not cramped up at all!
While prices for Torana XU-1 are 70-120K . you can not lose on this. especially as muscle car prices are soaring again!
No one will tell you that the booster is painted wrong and the tyres are not correct or the wheel nuts are wrong as this car is it is a one off!

The car can be viewed any time and can be inspected on a hoist.
I am open to serious and reasonable offers. but have put a reserve on this car to cover my costs.

YES. it leaked oil on my EK ute parked under it.   YES. you can drive it on your trailer. and put the hand brake on!
