SHIPPING: If you are far away and interested in this car. we have 4 options:
-If less than 350 miles from me I will happily drive the car to you. if you cover the cost of my one-way Avis. Hetz. Enterprise rental for the return trip (think less than $100)

-If more than 350 (350-2000mi) miles from me I will drive it to you. if you cover the cost of a plane ticket back to Kansas City. (This includes you California ☺)

-You fly to Kansas City and drive it home. I will work with you 100% with picking up at the airport and what not.

-You arrange shipping and I will work with whatever provide you find. this I would assume is the most expensive. but also doesn't involve me putting a ton of miles on the car especially for you east and west coast people.

Some background as to why I am selling:
I purchased my first insight (the silver 06) and drove to Chicago to get it. thought it was the best I could find even for the distance with what was on the market. Then 2 weeks later this red 06 pops up 12 miles from me…. I couldn't resist. After driving both back and forth. I still liked the silver better (banged up so I felt less guilty driving it. ) So. Vicky is up on the market.

Mechanical:

At 99. 00 miles. the previous owner began hearing throw out bearing noises. The car was brought to Tiffany Springs Honda. and the following was done after finding metal shavings in the transmission (Receipts for this work can be found in the picture links):Used manual transmission was procured from a car with 72kNew flywheelNew Clutch friction discNew Clutch Pressure discNew throw out bearing
-The car shift smooth with zero resistance going into any gear on upshift. and downshift goes into gear from any gear with ZERO grinds or resistance. Even into first at 10mph. Overall it is much smoother than my higher mileage 06.

-12 volt battery replaced around 77. 00 miles in 2014

-Claimed to have replaced front brakes around the same time. but there is no receipt to prove this.

-4 new RE92's at 101. 00 so literally less than 1000miles on them (previous tire was a kuhmo 175/65/14 which dropped the life time from 58 to 55 during their ownership. )
These were $518. 00 and installed by Discount tire. This includes a transferable warranty that does rotations and repairs for free including sidewall damage (replacement of tire) they will also reimburse you if you are on the road and must stop for a repair somewhere else.

IMA:

The IMA battery that was in the car when I bought it was in poor shape. but was not throwing any codes. However. sitting overnight usually led to it dropping to 4-5 bars and then doing frequent recalibrations while driving. with only short bursts of assist.

From here I removed the strong IMA from my silver 2006 that I put 4500 miles on last month with only one recalibration on a 1400mile road trip to Ohio. When I installed this in the Red car. I also installed a Hybrid Automotive Discharge ready grid charging harness. Before driving after the battery swap I did a full reconditioning process as outlined by hybrid automotive to get a good baseline for the next owner.

The process:24 hour balance charge peaked at 172 voltsDischarge to 96v24 hour balance chargeDischarge to 60v24 hour balance chargeDischarge to 12v24 hour balance charge which leveled off at 173 voltsThe battery now feels not much different than it did in the silver car. except for more linear usage of the SOC gauge. It has tons of capacity it seems above 75% on the SOC gauge. once at 50% it will start looking for opportunity to get it back to 75%. and once below 25% it will really start background charging. However. at any of these points if demand for power is given. it will sustain long full assist pulls without much hesitation. I can pull full assist even with only 3-4 bars left. The old battery I was lucky to see 3-4 bars on the assist gauge below 50% SOC. and anything less triggered a recalibration.

With the harness installed I think this battery has tons of life left especially with regular driving habits and the occasional battery maintenance with Grid Charging.

Body:

-This is one of the few red insights I have seen recently that didn't have the pink fading issue. or totally deteriorated clear coat. The entire car still shines enough to see your reflection. and based on the previous owners comments it was garaged its entire life.

-All Aero panels are intact. and I have ordered an Aluminum belly pan from Scott that will be installed once it makes it here.

-It is still a 10 year old car and has a few little nick and imperfections here and there from shopping carts and whatnot. See the photos (140+ of them) for everything I could capture.

-Most notable imperfections: repaired mark on rear bumper. nick to rear bumper black trim. mark on spoiler. a few rock chips on hood that are hard to see. drivers door entry has what looks like shoes nicked the paint. Well shown in photos.

-Wheels and center caps are close to perfect with one having a little oxidation under where what looks like used to be a wheel weight.

Interior:
-original Insight floor mats. Drivers has two dirt wear marks near the pedals. but otherwise good condition.

-Rear speakers. and the sound system sounds good for stock with no rattles or crackling even with high bass usage

-Seats have no signs of wear or staining

-Exceptionally clean even compared to my silver car.

-The original owner kept a log book starting with documenting the process of ordering the car from Honda. then subsequently logging EVERY tank of fuel including location and cost per gallon. This Log will come with the car. Her original name was Carmen Electra.
