1951 FORD DELUXE - 2 DR- ORIGINAL FLATHEAD


I bought this car with the intention of keeping. It was purchased originally from a man in Kentucky who had said he'd gone completely through car. He sent pics of engine rebuild and misc restoration work. When we received car it wasn't as claimed. and had to be sent to local shop to what was to be a bit of work.

As it goes we ended up redoing everything on car (just about) mechanically and car runs bad ass!

Here is a run down:

8 cyl Flathead

Edelbrock- Polished  aluminum heads

Offenhauser- Polished  aluminum high rise dual manifold

Dual Chrome 97 Stromberg Carbs- Plus all new linkage and fuel supply and electric fuel pump

New wiring- All hidden and ran blind

New chrome alternator

Dual optima batteries in trunk ( not in engine compartment )

New Brass radiator- plus new custom  hoses

New gas tank / fuel lines

New Brakes

New 2 inch lowering kit

Since we rebuilt car there have been very few miles only local drives

IN PROGRESS:

Trunk has been sound lined with sound mats / ready for new carpet. batteries in custom made brackets

New Seat bests ready to be installed . new horn button for steering wheel

Car runs wells and is fast for a built Flathead running with existing 3 spd. Interior is in very good shape and was redone by previous owner

NEEDS:

1) Quality paint job. this car has a nice shine to it but has a few chips and blems. recently someone chipped the paint near trunk at window trim area. I will send a picture. but car would be OUTSTANDING with new paint job. its straight and no rust. glass good. chrome good

2) Road tires / wheels- I was planning on putting ROCKET RACING WHEELS ( sold by SUMMIT ) as they have the proper offsets to get a decent size tire and rim- The car has show style whitewall bias ply tires and beauty rims - whitewalls are nice looking but they are NOT great street tires which this car needed to perform better.

We have over $ 30. 00 in car and it still needs a few things to become a GREAT CAR. mechanically its really good. just needs few steps to push over the top.

House is being remodeled and this car ( breaks my heart ) will help finish the job. wife says sell!!
