The number plates are the original plates that were issued for the car in 1971 and have been on it ever since.

I believe in full disclosure so this is the story:

This is not a show car but it is a straight car that has been well-used. but always loved.   It has always been faithful and is as honest as the day it was made.

Genuine 3 owner country wagon. always garaged. unmolested original car.

1st owner. bought the car from the Ford dealership in Goulburn.

At the time (1971) Ford had a special offer called ‘The country package'. especially targeting people in the country.

The only real difference to an ordinary wagon was heavy duty shocks in the rear. a limited slip differential and factory power disk brakes on the front.

The car still retains the limited slip differential. but I have since replaced the rear shocks with normal shocks as I do not carry heavy loads.

The 1st owner did a lot of freeway driving and wanted the fuel economy benefits of the 6 cylinder and limited slip diff combo.

2nd owner was the next door neighbour of the first owner and he did not do anything to the car except drive it locally and keep it in his shed.

3rd owner (me).   I bought the car 17 years ago and I have never planned to sell her.   All the work I have had done over the years was done with the view of keeping the car.

After about 6 months of owning it. I got sick of adjusting the points all the time. so I installed an electronic ignition (crane fireball).   The car has never skipped a beat since.

The next upgrade was a couple of years later which was fitting extractors to improve power and fuel economy.

I still have the original cast iron manifold which belongs to the car.

The car has always been regularly serviced and has been used as a daily driver since 1971.

My mechanic always tells me it is the straightest XY he has ever seen and said that if I sell it I will never find another one like it.

It has taken me about 6 months to come to terms with the fact that I need to sell her.

I had planned to put the car in the Ford museum in Melbourne as they were keen to have it because of its rarity. but the museum has closed down.

The price is negotiable (within reason).
