1965 Franklin

Up for bid is a 1965 Franklin camper trailer. The camper needs some repairs or restoration. Please look the pictures over good to see condition. I put new ST trailer tires on it in January 2017 and they have about 30 miles on them. The trailer is 15 feet long and with the tongue 2 1/2 feet total length is 17 1/2 feet long. I will hook up temporary lights so you can get it home. I did not try to hook up the original lights or brakes. The temporary lights will take the standard 4 prong plug. The coupler takes a 2 " ball. I don't know how much this trailer weighs I pulled it home with a Ford Escape with a V6 motor but it was to small. In my opinion you should have a full size vehicle with maybe a V8 to pull it. Getting it home I travelled back roads running about 45 to 50 mph with no problems. I do not know how it handles at interstate speeds. The metal on the outside is overall in pretty nice shape. The paint is faded and thin so you may want to repaint it. The trailer has the original stove and sink. I did not test anything to see if they work including the electric. The guy I got it from said all lights worked inside but I did not check them. Would be best to check it out before plugging it in. I did not check any of the plumbing ether. The floor is all solid but the floor covering should be replaced as it is not very nice. There is a small bathroom with a toilet and shower. Someone has removed the heater. fridge and hot water tank so you will have to put them in if you want them. There is some water damage at the bottom of the rear window. some at the bottom of the front window and you can see that the ceiling has had some water damage at one time although it is not real noticeable. I believe when this camper was made it was top of the line as far as quality The way the cabinets are made is more like a house quality wood than cheep plywood. The counter top and table top is in very nice condition. The outside entrance door is in very good condition and opens and closes as it should. It does lock and I have the key for it. There is even a spare tire bracket under the camper for a spare tire. no spare tire though. The original cushions have stains on them so at the very least they will need cleaned or maybe replaced. I have a clear PA title for it and the title is in my name. The title will be transferred out of my name at a notary at the time of pickup at the buyer's expense before the trailer leaves my property. Payment to be made at time of pickup by CASH ONLY. no exceptions. If you're having a shipping company pick it up. before bidding. make sure they can pay in cash when they pick it up. I will not accept payments. The trailer is to be picked up within 2 weeks unless other arrangements have been made. You are welcome to come check it out before bidding if you'd like.
