MG TC - Restored Early Car

1946 MGTC – Full Restoration

My dealership has been asked to sell this car for a customer. This is a rare opportunity to buy an historic car needing little more done for you to enjoy driving and proudly showing it.   The car was restored from the frame up in 1999 by two of the founders of the MG Club of Central New York. people who have driven. raced and repaired early MGs over many years.   It has been driven only about 1000 miles since. to shows and in good weather.   My mechanic and I have driven the car recently and can confirm it performs quite well.   The owner of 30 years has retired to his Florida home. is selling his Lake Ontario. NY summer residence. and must consolidate his collection.  

The car is chassis # TC/3242.   The original engine. XPAG 3821 was replaced at some point by XPAG 10613.   This engine was rebuilt at the time of the restoration and is just broken in.   The car would be very competitive in regional shows as is. and could be improved at little expense to compete in national shows.   It looks fabulous in its rare original shade of blue.  

In the spirit of full disclosure I must point out the following.   There are some dust specs in the paint. as the car was never color sanded & buffed following painting.  The finish looks great and a typical enthusiast would never notice it.   I have an estimate of $400 to resolve this minor blemish. Mechanically. the brakes need a refresh after so little use. and the steering box needs an adjustment to take out free play. We could also address this for a new owner. Please note in one photo the camera flash makes the door seem a different shade of blue. but the paint is the same and this color shift is not visible in normal light.

I am happy to pick up any serious bidder at the Rochester airport and return him/her there after inspecting the car

In New York State cars this old have no titles. but come with a transferable registration.   This and a bill of sale will satisfy the title requirements in all states.   I am happy to assist in shipping. provided the buyer makes the arrangements and pays all fees.  I do have a proven carrier who transports cars to New Jersey ports for about $400.
