I reserve the right to yank the listing if it sells locally.   Also. if I don't sell it. wreck it. nbsp;or crush it first. specialty dealer consignment is LOOMING to allow it greater market exposure.   This car deserves an owner who has the time to pamper and treasure it to a greater degree than I have and I suspect that dealer will find him unless that person finds me first and saves some commission money!

LOOMING is the operative word to remember.   Please continue reading below.

In 1968. Rudy Claar walked into his local Dodge dealership and ordered this car when he was 57 years old!

I rather think he had good taste in his color choice and was a good steward of this car holding on to it until he was well into his 80s.   He must have been a man who loved this machine.

It was finally sold to a man who intended to restore it after his purchase in the 90s but lost interest in it eventually and sold it to the man who did restore it having completed it in 2015.

Shortly after completion. it was placed in competition by him at the 2015 MOPAR NATS in A BODY ORIGINAL and it took second place in that class with 510 out of 520 points with the biggest demerit being 2 points for an incorrect and non working cigarette lighter.

I acquired it after that and have done very little to it cosmetically but I have performed a lot of refining and debugging as there is often much refinement necessary after a rotisserie reassembly.   I've driven it about 400 miles with the last three trips accounting for 250 of those miles and it's only been driven about 450 miles since being restored.   I am confidant enough in it to believe a dependable trip awaits anyone who would prefer to drive it home or anyone who may prefer to drive it daily.

A body Darts are SELDOM found restored to this standard.   When found. are they EVER found in this color and/or at this option level?

The car is equipped with CORRECT and CORRECTLY FITTING front and rear bumper guards. fender mounted turn signals. light package. dual side view chrome mirrors. three speed wipers. and tinted glass as well as the aforementioned options above.   EVERYTHING WORKS. TOO.

Worthy of note is that the windshield was replaced near the end of the restoration with a NEW. CORRECTLY MARKED & LOGOED ECS REPRODUCTION.

The stripe was deleted by Mr Claar at the time of his order and it WAS devoid of any stripe when the restoration was completed in 2015 BUT I have since applied a CORRECT 3M white vinyl tail stripe.

The engine and transmission are the MATCHING NUMBER ORIGINALS to the car and yes. BOTH WERE REBUILT.   The engine wears it's ORIGINAL CARTER AVS CARBURETOR & CORRECT color and it's fitted with the CORRECT pie tin.   A CORRECT reproduction battery is also in place.

The dash finish and paint. I was told. are original to the car (and appear so) reflecting the care it received.   Only the plastic chrome bezels were refinished.   The VIN tag still looks fresh. too and. YES. I have the BUILD SHEET. owner's manual. and the metal CERTICARD.   The FENDER TAG is in place as well.   This strongly supports the story that it was always garaged.

The car rolls on a set of 215 70 R14 BFG RADIAL T/As mounted on aftermarket 1970 Rally wheel replicas in 14x6 with MATCHING chrome trim rings.   They are held on by aftermarket chrome lug nuts with a resemblance to OEM chrome nuts and they have both a 3/4" hex and a wide cone base.   I also freshened the trunk. nbsp;with a new mat and a space saver spare to allow a flatter trunk floor.

Four original wheel covers are also included as well as the original steering wheel and alternator.

Attention to detail is apparent EVERYWHERE including all of the original seat and shoulder belts as well as a CORRECT. working lighter.   It's stance is CORRECT. the grille is CORRECTLY PAINTED in black. the deck panel is also CORRECTLY FINISHED. the CORRECT jack is in place. the defroster works. all the bulbs work. the radio works. all of the emblems are CORRECTLY PLACED. and the seats all wear their original chrome medallions.   It even smells right inside!

2112 GTS Hardtops with a high performance 383 4 barrel were built in the 68 model year with 1113 of them Torqueflite equipped according to one source.   Of those. how many remain 49 years later?  Of those. how many were built as this one was?

This is undoubtedly one of the finest big block Darts available ANYWHERE.   The insurance company recommended a certified appraiser who estimated it's fair market value at $45. 00 last year.   Factoring that in and considering it's stunning and rare color combination. nbsp;is that not enough to make this car irresistable to any thinking Mopar fan. A body fan. or any musclecar enthusiast anywhere in the world who wants a non run of the mill Dart in a stunning color combo from the golden age of American street performance?  Apparently not so I've dropped the asking price by $4. 00 below the appraised value.

Compare this GTS with ANY of the other 383 GTS offerings out there for quality. beauty. correctness. and especially value!  This is one of the best BIG BLOCK GTS DARTS on the planet and if it goes to Europe or any other continent. it may very well be THE nicest if not the only big block Dart around and certainly one of THE NICEST MUSCLE MOPARS around.

MANY believe the 1968 Dart is the ONLY year Dart to own for a variety of reasons so here is an opportunity for the right steward and in RED/PEARL WHITE. TOO!  Don't be one of those who grow to lament letting this very special GTS get away.   Specialty dealer consignment is LOOMING now more than ever.   It will cost you less here but your time is running out.

SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THIS PROUD GTS!

DODGE FEVER. ANYONE?

Study the pics and ask questions. please. and to answer those that have asked about a trade. yes. trades are certainly something I am not unwilling to consider.
