As the Ford Collector Car Hobby is filled with many iconic cars dominated by the Mustang. Shelby's. Cobra Jets. and the Boss Models of the 1969 and 70 years are the "Holy Grail" of most Ford Collectors. Over the last few years very rare and low production Torinos have been coming out of the woodwork. 429 and 428 Cobra Jet Torinos are inching up the Collector Car boards and are trending to higher prices. Not to be lost in the shuffle. the Mercury models of these cars are even more rare then their Ford counterparts while also bringing a more unique and aggressive look.

This 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT offered by Blad Boys Muscle Cars is a fine example of this low production model. Making a little over 10. 00 GT's makes it the highest model of Cyclone but the percentage still on the road is in the single digits. This Cyclone comes with plenty of history considering it is a 2 owner car with the current owner has been driving it since 1984.

When the current owner purchased the car. he knew what a gem he had and made the decision to take the original 351 Cleveland out of the car and install a few more cubic inches. He installed a freshly built 428 Cobra Jet and has enjoyed every minute driving and showing it winning many local car shows and cruise ins. He has preserved all the parts that were removed from the car when the Big Block was installed including:

Original Power Steering Assembly
Original Exhaust Manifolds
Numbers Matching Engine
Original Wheels

The Yellow exterior is from 1 repaint done in the 90's and shows very well with only a few small blemishes from enjoying the ride. Some small areas were cosmetically altered including the front grille has the edges of it's bezel painted in a silver paint. It shows very well and is better than driver quality. The drivers door could use a new set of hinge bushings due to having a slight sag when opening the door. The hideaway headlights are in perfect working order and look new.

The interior is completely original to the car excluding having a new headliner and carpet installed. The unique Mercury dash gauge package that is spread across the passenger side of the car looks great and works properly other than the tach. I am sure that the owner would have no problem repairing this for the one who purchases it. There is also a small rip in the drivers seat that is from it's age and is very minor.

This is a very nice. rust free Cyclone GT that you can get in and enjoy. Considering it comes with all of it's original parts. original build sheet and warranty card and documented history. the is a Mercury lovers dream. These cars do not have any parts providers that make the unique parts that were designed to upgrade it's Torino Brothers so Cyclones of this quality are hard to find.
