Mercedes 500SEC Nautic Blue 1987 one lady owner 93,000 miles, superb

This wonderful and immaculate Mercedes 500SEC W126 model was imported by me from Jersey during August this year.   I had hoped to use it extensively but after much soul searching we have decided that I need a four door for my classic driver.   In Nautic Blue with cream leather – it is the best colour scheme.   The engine is the wonderful. unstressed. 5. 0L V8.   The car was first registered in Jersey in September 1987. and had one lady owner until a dealer bought it from her in November 2011.   I purchased it from him in August 2013 so effectively this car has had one lady owner from new.   The mileage is 93. 56 and I will limit further use pending sale.  
Servicing has been: Jacksons Mercedes at 428 miles in Sept 1988 Rose & Young Mercedes at 8. 45 in miles Jan 1995 Stillmans Mercedes at 25. 75 miles in May 1997 Stillmans Mercedes at 44. 76 miles in Sept 1998 Bradshaw & Webb Mercedes at 53. 55 miles in Sept 1999 Bradshaw & Webb Mercedes at 63. 04 miles in March 2000 Drayton Mercedes at 67. 71 miles in January 2001 Drayton Mercedes at 71. 09 miles in November 2001 Drayton Mercedes at 76. 86 miles in November 2002 C&D Motors Mercedes Specialists at 85. 80 miles in December 2007 The car was then not serviced and only covered 7. 00 miles over the next five years until I bought it in August this year.   
In my ownership the car has benefitted from a full service from my local Mercedes Specialist. which included 4 brand new Conti tyres. new electric aerial. alternator belt. new HT leads.   The car passed its first MOT (not required in Jersey) with the only advisory being ‘rear fluid suspension unit interconnecting pipe corroded but not seriously weakened'.   
Taxed to end of August 2014 MOT is to 15th August 2014   
The car is in simply wonderful condition and I looked at many poor examples before I finally came across this particular motor.   The paintwork gleams. the interior leather is unmarked and all excellent. the headlining is good – but best of all. the car drives superbly.   The Mercedes 5. 0L V8 gives the car tremendous acceleration.   The car feels taut on the road and driving just brings a grin to your face!  Its very easy to drive too – my wife was a bit nervous at first given the length but she has been completely won over.   If driven gently then it is perfectly docile but drive it harder and then it really rewards you!  You simply would not believe this was a 26 year old car!   The interior is a great place to be.   Heated and electrically adjustable front seats. with lumbar control for the driver and superb ‘butler' seatbelts – which actually hand you the seat belt!  Excellent rear legroom if you are a rear passenger - really uncommon for most coupe style cars.   
With all four electric windows down and the electric sunroof open – you could be in a great four-seater convertible!    
Points of attention:  There is no rust. but there are some marks on the rear nearside wheel-arch.   I have shown this in one of the pics.   The paint has not blistered but it will need attending to. There is a tiny (really small) dent on the rear nearside quarter panel. where somebody has ‘doored' the car - I have shown where it is in one pic. Cruise control is intermittent and aircon needs re-gassing - both would be fine if specifically serviced. Other than that the car has a stain on the boot carpet. there are a few insignificant cracks in some of the wood veneer (the worst is shown in one pic). and annoyingly I made a mark on the driver's sun visor with my Bluetooth receiver.
