1951 Dodge Coronet 2 Door Coupe Original Rust Free Restoration Project for sale

This 1951 Dodge Coronet is very complete and original. The 2 tone black and white paint even appears to be original. The body is very straight and solid. with only a few areas of rust where dirt collected and got wet over the years. This car came from Montana which is known for rust free cars. The chrome on this car is very nice. with little or no pitting. It would be an excellent car to restore to original or could make a very nice street rod. The car hadn't been started for about 25 years. We recently removed the cylinder head to inspect the engine. Everything under the head looked very good. The cylinder walls all looked good with almost no ridge. We didn't find an oversize stamp on the pistons. and believe it's the original engine with 76. 23 miles on it. We thoroughly cleaned the gasket surfaces. removed some carbon. cleaned and lubricated the cylinder walls and valve stems. We wire bushed the head bolts. ran a thread tap in and out of all of the bolt holes in the block and torqued the head back down with a new head gasket. We installed new spark plugs. thermostat. upper and lower radiator hoses. heater hoses. fan belt. oil and filter. The car runs and sounds great.  Lights. horns. radio and heater are all in working order.  Tires and a little brake work are the only major things we can see that the car needs to be ready to drive. We have drove it around our lot carefully using the park brake.  The clutch and transmission seem to work fine. We have the original owner's manual and some paper work from the original purchase in Miles City. Montana.   ALL SALES ARE FINAL. PLEASE ask any and all questions before the end of the auction.
