1969 CHARGER FACTORY BIG BLOCK 4 SPEED

--This is my dads car and I am listing this car for him. --

He bought this car a couple years ago to simply have a nice driver/cruiser for the summers while he was working on another car.   The car was purchased from a prior owner who owned it for nearly 30 years.   This car has not been flipped around from owner to owner.   It had a 440 in it when he purchased it which needed to be freshened up.

When he decided he was going to sell it this spring we decided the car needed a date coded 383 magnum engine which is what is came from the factory with.   The 440 was pulled and a 1969 383 Magnum engine was recently installed.   The 383 was rebuilt by a professional local engine builder.   The engine is completely new with only break in time in the garage.

So this is the quick history on car.

Lets start with the body and paint.   In full disclosure we have only owned the charger for two years however I will do my best to give you my best assessment of the car.

The car had a color change from its factory red R4 paint as well as a color change on the vinyl top which was originally white.   The car was probably a stunner when new and we were debating actually turning it back to its original color.   Now that's your choice.

The car was painted over 20 years ago which some view as a detriment however we view as a plus.   This car was painted 20 years ago and still looks this good which tells you one thing; the body was pretty nice when they painted it and they also did a pretty good job on the actual work.   That being said; don't expect a show car paint job. its 20 years old and is just not going to happen.   It has some typical orange peel and wash rag swirls but as you can see still looks great.   Yes;  it could look even better with a quick cut and buff.   No rust issues notes anywhere.   Engine bay is not as shiny as the rest of the car of course and has some battle scars in the paint here and there from wrenching on the engine over the years.   The trunk and inner quarters were spattered with Chevy rattle can trunk paint. My dad wanted to know what was hiding under there so he scraped it off.   The trunk is very solid for an original trunk.   I noted three tiny holes the size of bb's in the trunk that I inspected while taking photos of the car.   You can see areas of factory red paint in trunk.   The body panels are great!  The frame and underneath is rock solid with factory undercoating.   The body panels all appear original with the exception of the drivers door which was replaced. Lower quarters may have been repaired when painted years ago but if so they did a great job.   Trim is good and original.    The original windshield is still on the car and shows typical 40 years of pitting and wiper scratch.   Bumpers are original to car and rear one still has factory sticker from dealership in FL.   The grill has not been detailed and is still in original condition but in good condition. The vacuum operated head light door work well.  I think this about wraps up the body.   The car is simply a great car that you could look very respectable at a local show with.

Now going to discuss the drivetrain.    The engine was just recently by a local professional engine builder who builds race engine full time.   The engine is essentially a factory 383 magnum out of a 69 Superbee that I ran as my first car 30 years ago.   The engine was dropped off and was completely rebuilt.   It is essentially a slightly bumped up rebuild. A six pack was added. The carbs are factory original and recently professional rebuilt and appear to run great. The car also has the correct fuel system with a high volume fuel pump with a vapor separator and return line.   As you can see in the pics there is a hi po coil. and electronic ignition system on the car. The wiring is older but worked so good we did not touch it.   The radiator is original to the car.   The four speed trans is numbers matching to the car and has a Center Force clutch.   The rear axle is original and I believe the gears are 3. 23's (I will double check and update if needed. If not they are 3. 55's. )  No visible leaks anywhere.   This car was driven a lot by my dad and runs down the road like a dream!  The exhaust is flow masters that have a great sound.

The brakes have been converted to Dr. Diff disk brakes up front with all new hardware on the rear.   The car stops on a dime.  The suspension items are typical driver quality which no issues.   No paint splotches on this one.

The interior is a mix of original and older repro stuff.   Seats have undoubtedly been recovered but have no rips and are clean. couple buttons missing on drivers side.   I think I noticed some cracks on the hinge covers which is pretty typical.   Dash pad is great.   The car is a factory console car but was not in the car when we purchased it.   It has the brackets under the carpet for a install if someone wants to put one back in.   The gauges all work. even the tick tock tach. The dash is all original and has not been restored.   Aftermarket radio works fine but is tempermental.   It takes a couple minute break now and then.   No sure if it's the radio or a connection somewhere. If I get a chance I will take a look at it prior to purchase.   The carpet look good. door panels are good.   Upper door pads are good with minor cracks on end.  Headliner is not factory and is the one thing I would replace at some point. It a non factory material.   It looks ok but has wrinkles in the sail panel area.

                                 ******Wheels and Tires.   ******

Very important.   The redlines and steel black wheels are not included with this sale.   They go on my dads Super Bee.   They are simply put on this car to show you how great it looks with a factory tire combo.   I know there some people that like the stock look(me) and some like the old school look(dad)…

The wheels and tires that he is included are the Cragar SS wheels.   The Cragars are in great shape however and he has had quite a few guys try to buy them from him.   The tires are new purchased at Carlisle last year.   They are Pro Trac 50's on back and 60's on front.   Like new condition.

The chargers body numbers. original fender tag. trans and vin tag are all matching to this car.   There is no broadcast sheet found.

****This car does not have a title.  ****

Lastly Maine is a non title state for older cars.   A valid copy of current registration will be provided and typically satisfies most states legal needs.

Full payment must be made with 3 days.   Wire transfer or cash on delivery is required.

We will assist shipper in loading the car at a convenient location.

If you are looking to purchase this car you know how hot second gen chargers are right now.   This is simply a very nice Charger you can get in a drive and have a blast.   It gets a ton of attention and is a blast to drive.    You will be hard pressed to find another 69 charger in this condition at this price.

Sale is “as is” where is.   Do your due diligence. Fly in see that car if you need to or ask any necessary questions.   I wrote a long description as I do not have a pile of time for a bunch of questions however if you have any that I missed please do not hesitate to let me know.   I am on the road nearly every other day but will answer the questions as soon as I see them early or late in the day.    Good luck and enjoy this car if you are the winning bidder.
