Carriage House Motor Cars has a superb and unusual 1940 Mercury Custom Coupe for bid.   This car was the vision of custom car craftsman Rick Dore and features at it's heart. nbsp;a 327 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 coupled to a 350 Turbo-Hydramatic Transmission.   The car was previously owned by Johnny Loper who owned several custom car shops in the Southwest.   The car was built to be a driver as well as a beautiful show car and can be driven just about anywhere. Inspired by custom builder Nick Matranga's lowered '40 Mercury. which has long been accalimed as a classic cult car. Rick Dore of Glendale. Arizona. nbsp;winner of numerous awards and elected to four Custom Car Halls Of Fame. enhances this car with his blend of the past and future.   The body work is all metal. top chopped in front by 4 inches and the rear by 6 inches then totally reshaped along with elevating the front windshield one inch.   Front and rear fenders have been molded. running boards trimmed and skirts flush fitted.   The interior is host to front buckets and a rear bench seat trimmed in soft Italian white pearl leather.   One of the most outstanding custom crafted cars in the world. it would be a delightful addition to numerous collections or a car to own. drive and be a showcar winner!
