FOR SALE: 1970 NISSAN “HAKOSUKA” SKYLINE 2000 GT

Up for sale is a rare four-door 1970 Nissan “Hakosuka” Skyline 2000 GT that has been tastefully modified to look and perform like a GT-R! Enthusiasts of the Nissan marque will fully appreciate just how special this car is. The ultra-desirable ‘Box Skyline' is the pinnacle of any car collection. Its low-slung muscular appearance. famous scalloped rear flanks. and important GT-R racing heritage make this a very collectable piece. In its day. the GT-R version rubbed paint with the likes of Toyota 1600 GT. Mazda R100/RX2/RX3. Isuzu Bellet GTR and even Porsche 911 at the track. The GT-R racked up an astonishing 50 victories in less than three years of competition which ended in 1972.

This nice Hakosuka is presented well with a fresh coat of metallic silver paint with all correct badges. The distinct rumble at the front and sweet exhaust note at the rear can be attributed to its rebuilt inline 6 cylinder L28 engine with N42 head. The engine is set off with a stunning set of recently overhauled triple Solex 44PHH carburettors which sound absolutely amazing and pulls hard! Spent engine gases are are quickly disposed of through a set of aftermarket headers and dual muffler exhaust system. The car has been lowered to an aggressive stance on genuine 14 inch Watanabe allow wheels at all four corners. The alternator has been recently overhauled ensuring ongoing reliability and a Recaro driver's seat has been added for comfort during spirited drives at the track.

As this car is 43 years old it does have some rust in usual locations. however it presents very well overall. The exterior is largely rust free. The doors. door jambs. hinges. B and C pillars. wheel arches. boot lid. bonnet are rust all free. All chrome trim and brightwork are complete and in good condition. We have seen quite a few of these Hakosuka's go through Japanese auctions recently and believe us – this example is one of the better ones for this grade car.

That said. the car is complete. looks absolutely amazing. and sounds and goes great.
