1966 Ford Mustang GT Fastback 289 4 Speed W Pony Interior Tahoe Turquoise

Here we have my Rare "Barn Find" Tahoe Turquoise 1966 Mustang "GT" Fastback with its original 289 and 4 Speed .

It has Factory Pony Interior . the whole drive line is all date code matching and has never been changed . looks like it may have had a repaint in its early life as the paint now is very faded making it look like the original but is not .

It had been sitting for 20 years before I got it and the guy before me in America got it up and running . cleaned the tank out etc. The car runs and drives and has 54. 00 miles on the clock . The car doesn't look like 54. 00 miles . but the Arizona sun has just baked everything making it look more worn than it was .

The motor runs like a swiss wrist watch . the gearbox and diff are great . it is 3. 00 Diff Ratio . it has its correct Door Tag . Gearbox . Diff . and Engine Tags which are all March /April 66 Build Dates .   This car is a Real GT which after some research it seems there is very few left now as in 66 They didnt make many like in 65.

It is in arguably the Best and Most sought after Colour Tahoe Turquoise . and is factory Parchment Trim which as it was all baked from the sun . I have decided to go with the Turqiouse /White Trim which is the best looking combo . and the only deviation from standard on the car . The whole interior is all fully restored and ready to fit . that means seats . carpet . underlay (correct die cut stuff) . sunvisors . door trims . step plates . headlining . kick panels and more .  

It has basically a rust free "75" DSO Code Arizona delivered car . but it does have the usual rust hole under the battery tray . nbsp;and 3 or 3 very minor spots . but I doubt you will see such a clean one like this ever again especially not a GT fastback !  All the frame rails . Plenum Chamber . and underneath of the car is clean . the carpets are out and the floor is as mint as you will ever see one with only some brown damp spots from wet carpet in a few spots at the front and under the RH Heater dash outlet .

If you have been waiting patiently for the right car . then this is the one . It has all the correct GT items . like Fog Lamps/Grille . Rear Dual exhaust . with correct brakcets /hangers etc. double rear skins floorpans etc. all the standard correct features and all in nice faded paint so you can see nothing has ever been molested .

I have fitted a few new items external items to the engine bay as it has been sitting so long . but the basics are all untouched .  

The car will be sold as is with over $10. 00 worth of Parts . New Literature and a myriad of items . making this one easy restoration .

Please don't waste my time if comparing to standard Fastback prices . as a GT in this colour with Pony Trim and 4 Speed is in another league . and short of being a K code or Shelby . this is in my opinion th ebest and most classic looking 66 Mustang with its Stripes and exterior features .

As this is "the one' . nbsp; you will long forget about the price when you know you have the king of the hill in your collection .
