Hi. for sale is my much loved Mk2 Mini Cooper. Owned by myself for the last 10 years and sad to see it go. but unfortunately I just don't get the time to drive it anymore due to family commitments. Car was re-commissioned by Minispeed in Byfleet this time last year after a good 6 or so years spent locked in my garage. Car although not perfect. is in very good condition.  Body work is overall very good. has a couple of paint chips here and there. and the passenger door could do with adjustment/re-hanging. but no rust to speak of other than some light bubbling on the edges of roof. It has been kept in a dry garage by me over the last 10 years. never left out and very seldom driven in the wet. Mechanically the car is also very good. has just passed it's MOT first time. with only a couple minor advisories. Engine pulls very well. especially after being tuned on the rollers at minispeed last winter. making 78bhp and 110Nm torque. Interior is very nearly complete except for rear pillar trims which I had to remove when replacing rear windscreen rubber. but new ones I have. don't fit. Seats are non original. see more on that below. Worst bit is where the paint has flaked off the heater. but could be easily re-furbed. Other details:

Mk2 1968 Cooper in Red
Complete restoration carried out in 1991/92 - fully documented with a lot of pics and colossal invoices. - Huge history folder and pics available to view.
Heritage Certificate held
Car is standard apart from:

Colour - prior to restoration. car was originally blue with white roof. as recorded on Heritage certificate.
1275cc engine (origin unknown. but considered old - was part of full resto in 1991 before my time. no detail available. but suspected from austin 1300GT or similar)
Different gearbox with 2. 9 final drive - much better for cruising. engine has plenty of poke to turn this ratio.
RC40 exhaust and LCB manifold - New last year.
Spotlights on front (repro wipac versions)
6x10 GB MiniLite's with Falken tyres
60's sports seats (vinyl and very hot!) - These are from a Triumph spitfire. so worth good money if you want to swap back
Wooden/chrome steering wheel (I do have the original morris bus-sized steering wheel which is included in the sale)
Overall a very nice proper mk2 cooper. not re-shelled. or faked like may others!. Car has been displayed at couple of mini events over my ownership. and attracts a lot of attention as this vintage is getting very rare now. As I say it is not perfect. and it is 45 years old. hence I'm not asking perfect money for it. but it could be easily transformed into something very special.

Please do come to view if seriously interested. but please. please please no timewasters and tyre kickers ;-)
Note - I've had a lot of questions surrounding the interior of the car. Essentially. aside from the front seats. I think most of the interior has been replaced/refurbed at some point prior to my ownership. Carpets I believe are from Newton commerical and of very good quality. I think the roof-lining looks too new to be original. also door cards and rear bin liners I think are also from Newton.
