This 1962 Metropolitan coupe was originally sold by Walker Brothers Inc located at that time on on Wilshire Blvd in LA on 4-14-62 to Samuel & Rose Ridgell of LA for 1. 92. 25 (original window sticker and bill of sale included)

Mrs Ridgel's handwritten notes incl with the car state that the car was originally black & white and was re-painted by her husband to match their brown & white 1955 Desoto. They sold the car to a Jack Bowers in Crownsville. MD who repainted the car red & white and had the interior redone as shown. The car then passed to a John Kehoe . also in Maryland in 1988 who sold it to Charles Henry in St Augustine. FL. The car then passed to another FL resident. (whom I will not identify here) who unfortunately lost the car in a Bankruptcy. I purchased the car from the Bankruptcy in 2012. So the car has had only 5 previous owners in over 50 years and was well cared for by all. The documentation from previous owners as to maintenance. nd repair performed is included but not guaranteed to be complete. The documentation also includes an edition of the "Met Gazette" from April 1983 with the car featured on the cover with the original owners. The article documents what the dealer added before displaying the car in the 1962 LA Auto Show and shows pictures of the car shot for a promotional calendar around the time of the show. Copies of these pictures are also included with the car. '

The car comes with pictures of the  car with the original owners and with posed models as it is recorded to have been displayed by the dealer in the 1962 LA auto show. The dealer added two chrome rear antennas. some body side molding incl the "Custom " side badgeing on the right rear fender a continental rear tire cover along with two outside Rambler mirrors with "R" engraved on the front fenders. The dealer also added Rambler embossed lap seat belts to the car. . a chrome valve cover and a chrome radiator fan.

A very interesting well preserved original driver which I hate to part with given the shape of the car. it's history and documentation. I can send pics of the documentation to serious parties upon request.

Thanks for looking !
