1964 TVR Grantura Mk III for sale

Offered for sale is my one of 97 built 1964 TVR Grantura MK III with the stock MGB three main motor and four speed gear box. This car underwent a full restoration finishing in 2008. and has never seen a day of rain since. The seats were fully rebuilt. and has a full leather interior (vinyl seat backs) and a roll bar that has been integrated around a modern fuel tank. The wiring system was also upgraded to a modern Painless wring kit to ensure it would be reliable. as to the old not so reliable electrical system . also installed is a dash mounted switch that controls a solenoid that shuts of 100% of the power to the system when the car is not in use. A great "anti theft" device.   Also installed is a electric pusher fan. car has never overheated.     I could go on about how rare this car is. but you probably know this already. I would think the chances are high that you are thinking about dropping a 289 in to this car as most have done. there by taking it's resale value much. much  higher.   As you may know the Mk II did not have the frame nor the suspension to handle a V8. but the good old Mk III sure did.     The motor runs well. quiet and smooth with good oil pressure  at idle. It has also been upgraded to an alternator system from the stock generator. The gear box was fully rebuilt and is non syncro in to first. it shifts like any 1964 MGB gear box does. All aspects of the brakes were new at the time of restoration. all suspension bushings were replaced  and they stop it well.   Technically this car has the wrong hood (bonnet). this one is from Vixen that was put on the car in the late '70s. There is no doubt in my mind that it is a vastly better hood. in design and function.   Now on to the stuff everyone wants to know. and that is what is in need of attention! As good as this car is. it not with out a few issues that could use attention  one wet winter. The lower interior door window trim (aluminum) could use polishing and installing (I have them). the seats are bolted to the floor as. not on runners.    Probably the two biggest issues is that the tac could use an over haul/cleaning as  the needle response is "lazy". The other main issue is the drivers door top hinge appears to need re bushed. or perhaps a simple adjustment as it sags.

 Although clean and very presentable the motor and stuff bolted to it is not as pristine as it was when restored. it is showing some signs of age. but so it should as it was eleven years ago.  
   The roll bar currently inhibits the seat from going all the way back by several inches. you have a few options if you need to change the seat position. nbsp;to gain the extra leg room.   One is to remove it. or have it kinked back (off set) and/or put the seat(s) on runners that will raise them up. and thus allowing them to go further back due to the angle of the seat back where it intersects with the edge of the rear deck.    There is some "spider web cracks" in one area the fiber glass (common as you know to fiber glass cars) hood and a small  paint crack above the windshield and a couple of scratches on the outer rocker. If you catch the light just right. you can see the paint has "fallen" just a wee bit where a luggage rack bolts used to be on the back. The passenger door is  a bit stiff from non use. Once in awhile on a bumpy road the right hood latch  may pop up. and the left can be a bit sticky. both  latches could use some fine adjustments to zero things in. The rear plexi glass was new at time of restoration. but now has a few marks on it that I am sure could be polished out. The front windscreen has some light pitting. just a sign of age.      I often get asked in parking lots "how fast does it go". In the eleven years I have  had it I have only once ever driven on the highway at highway speeds. nbsp;and even then I was a good boy and stayed with in the (rather low) speed limits in my Province. I do all my driving bye way of puttering around our local country roads. I'm just not in to going fast any more - been there done that so the car has not had any hard miles. I am unable to tell you how it preforms at "speed" (as fast as an MGB motor will take it that is).     At the time of restoration there was some rust in the out riggers. these were replaced with new steel (I have pictures to show the process). There is also what I call an integrated roll bar behind the dash that braces the "A" posts to the center top main chassis rails.   If you email me (see a photo with information) with your address. I am able to send you a dozen emails with considerably more information on the car. and lots more pictures.      I have bought a car over the internet before. with less than desirable results so I know what you are facing. There for it is imperative to my integrity and to your wallet that I represent this car accurately and honestly. nbsp;and it is just as important that you the buyer be comfortable with what you see and read  and if not ask me questions and for more photos. I encourage  you to have anyone in the area you may know to come over and inspect the car on your behalf. I also encourage you to ask any questions no matter how small. or simply call me to discuss. I have done my homework as I am sure you have (or should) on the value of Mk III cars. I have taken in to account what others are selling/sold for and the few things on the car that I could use some TLC mentioned above.

Once the vehicle has left the sellers residence the seller accepts no responsibility for the vehicle.   To assist you. I found out it will cost $450. 00 Can to transport the car from Victoria (Vancouver Island) to the port of Vancouver a major international shipping center. It will cost $700. 00 Can to transport the car to Blain Washington USA.   which is a common procedure to get it to shippers that only work with in the US.


 Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of $1. 00. 00 USD is payable to the seller with in 24 hours of an accepted offer to the sellers PayPal account.

The balance is due via a bank to bank wire transfer  (only) with in  seven days of the accepted offer. These terms  may be altered subject to the approval of both the seller and buyer. Once funds have been cleared by the bank the required documents can then be processed  and the car shipped .

Eddie, Is the car still for sale? Where is it now as I see you may be located in Jersey City but you mention shipping from BC (maybe you're form NJ originally?) in event thanks for taking the time to respond.
