Model History

The MGB is a sports car launched by MG Cars in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster. a coup? with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The six-cylinder MGC debuted in 1967; a later derivative fitted with the Buick-based Rover V8 was made from 1973 to 1976. A total of 399. 00 cars were produced from 1962-1980.

Interior & Equipment

The navy leather interior is excellent having had a new set of carpets and later more comfortable seats fitted. There are no issues at all and it is very clean indeed. All the clocks and gagues appear to be functioning correctly.

Exterior

The Iris Blue combined with the Navy hood and wire wheels is a fantastic combination and it stands out from others. The paintwork is excellent which is testament to how well it was done being an older restoration. Painted in cellulose there is no rust or rot and overall it is very very good order. She has been painted underneath and is detailed. a new application of clear wax oil has been added to protect for years to come. The hood is excellent. The brightwork of which much of it is original is excellent all round.

Wheels. Tyres & Brakes

The chrome wire wheels are as new and look superb. shod with a full set of all matching new quality radials the spinners are also new.

Engine & Transmission

The original 3 bearing engine we were advised has been fully rebuilt but we cannot verify this as have no documentation to prove. The oil pressure is excellent and there are no leaks or rattles and the engine is very strong and quiet. The syncro gearbox functions fine and the overdrive works correctly. A small amount of recommissioning has been addressed as this car was in storage for some 10 years. these works include new batteries. new dynamo. new master and slave cylinders etc etc. Once recommissioned the car passed mot with no advisories. In conclusion having had a full restoration the mechanics of this MG are A1. someone has spent alot of time and money getting this car right.

Summary

This Iris blue MGB Roadster is in superb order having come out of long term storage after having a full restoration.

Pull handle MGB's are getting hard to find in this condition and with the colour combination. new chrome wires. excellent mechanics and detailed engine bay and underside this car would stand proud at any show and in the current marketplace will not be for sale for long.
