1960 MG MGA for sale
Current customer rating: (210 votes ) based onMechanical parts include an extra 1500cc rebuilt engine. see the photo of the bore and new piston. showing . 030" oversize and clean crosshatch. This engine has never been fired up. It will need opening up and oiling as it is too tight to turn. I didn't want to force it.
A few oil/water holes in the engine where not covered up and over the years "things" made their homes inside ! The engine in the car is also a 1500cc unit and has rusty bores. it will not turnover.
There are side curtains with one broken plexi-glass slider. but there are four clear unfitted sliders.
There are two large totes of parts not in the photos. these include but not limited to the following. Inlet manifold. carbs. steering rack. extra drive shaft. clutch assembly. splash panels for under the wheel arches. extra seat runners. generator. headlight chrome rings. badges. threshold plates. hinges. 2 soft top frames. extra Transmission. 4 windshield posts. rear light plinths. Amco kick panels. bumpers front and rear. bumper irons. rear lights. chrome trim and fasteners. side screen stowage bag that fits behind the seats. extra dashboard and gauges. manual crank handle. metal fan. pulleys. brackets. the cockpit surround trim. the list goes on. there's loads of stuff.
WORK NEEDED.
The car will need new inner and outer rockers. "sills" if your British ! The lower A and B post will need replacing. There are several small holes around the fenders and body where they touch that will need attention. The boot floor looks solid. nbsp;as does the front body mounts that mount on the flat section behind the grille. the lips around all the fenders also look very good.
The aluminum lips around the bonnet. boot and doors are good. there usually split and need welding up. Not an easy job.
The car rolls easy and all the wheels look to be well lubricated. The tires are dry rotted but hold air ok.
The bottom "A" frame on the right front looks to be damaged. however. there is another "A" frame in the parts boxes.
The car was stripped to bare metal and primed many years ago. I'd say it was a very poor job. The gauges. switches and horn on the dash where covered during this process. well. almost. there's primer everywhere!
SHIPPING. I can deliver within SC for a nominal fee. or you can collect yourself. Please note. the parts will not fit inside the car and you will need a pick-up truck and trailer. Do not turn up with your car and a U-Haul trailer. If you hire someone to come collect it for you make sure your mention the parts. and make sure he isn't driving a huge car carrier. as he won't get it into my development.
PAYMENT. $300 via PayPal with in 48 hours of the auction close. the rest via a check WHICH MUST CLEAR FIRST. or cash on pick-up.
STORAGE. I can store it for two weeks after the auction close. If you need longer I could make arrangements with a local storage place for you. at your cost.
SELLING. I will only sell within the USA. even thought eBay says I ship internationally.
