Beautiful red Datsun 510 coupe from California with low miles. original interior and engine.   Upgraded to the 200sx "dogleg" 5 speed. SSS intake with twin SU carbs from Datsun Performance. Mulholland suspension gives it a sporty lowered look along with upgraded folding mirrors.   The stock rear view mirror was replaced in the '70's with a Wink mirror (very functional and all the rage back then).

The gas tank was removed. thoroughly cleaned and reinstalled.   No gas has touched it since. waiting for the new owner.   Tires were just replaced yesterday. with a full (all four tires) set of 205-60-R13 tires. not easy to find these days.   A leak-down test was performed on the engine. and all cylinders were in the 15% range.  Engine is original and has never been taken apart.  The temperature gauge has stopped working. so we will install an oil temperature gauge temporarily until that can be sorted out (don't want to overheat the Queen).   The car was repainted by the original owner because he did not like the Datsun colors and wanted Porsche Red.   The paint job is over 35 years old and still looks great.   There is one small dent in the driver's side rear fender. hard to see in the pictures (only mishap of it's garage life).

The car was originally owned by the son of a Datsun/Nissan executive in Southern California. and most of the mods were done by them through Datsun Performance.   The current owner (Paul) bought the car in the late 70's from ther original owner. and put in the 5 speed transmission and drove it for a few years and then garage parked it.   It has been garage-kept. started and driven on occasion. for the last 25 years.   You will be hard pressed to find another 510 in this condition. with these miles and owner history. I have a Carfax but it tells you nothing.   The car is currently non-op with a California title. so no nasty DMV fees waiting for the new owner.   Smog regulations back then with the twin SU carbs made certification impossible.

This was a very popular car in it's day and had a lot of success at the track.   Hence. many have been beat up. modified and loved to death.   I've had two myself.   We called them the "poor man's BMW" because they obviously were designed after the BMW 2002 (but a lot less expensive!).

The car currently resides in my garage in Mesa. Arizona where it has been for the past 12 years.   While the car is driveable I would not attempt a long distance trip - she is too valuable for that.   These cars weigh under 2500# so transporting is fairly simple.   You will be responsible for all transport arrangements and costs.   Please pick a reputable shipper.

Please look at the photos. and shoot me any questions you have.   Paul lives nearby so if I don't know he will.

Update:  The car does have an alarm system. we just need to find the key for it.   I have pictures of the front and rear floor but Ebay is not letting me add the pictures. Temperature gauge now works. knobs for lights and wipers are back on.   The car was not originally red. but some form of white - I posted the color number found in the front of the engine bay.   There is some evidence of the color in the interior and engine bay.
