1968 not a 1969 - ebay does not let you change it without starting over ! Hey ebay spend some time making it easier to change the year without having to start  from scratch .

This is what I am selling - A restored 1968 MERCEDES 280SL Body and chassis with a #10 paint job in BLACK !
Also included is the rebuilt engine with ZERO miles on it !  The head still needs to be assembled and the camshaft
was discovered to have a flat spot on one lobe so it needs to be reground ( cost $250 to do so )

This is what is included with the car . If a part is not listed it is not included !
1. Excellent Show condition body and chassis with hood - trunk lid -doors ( with locks and window lifting mechanism )
    This had a nice paint job on it in 2009 but it was not up to show quality so it was repainted by professionals after I traded it for the 190sl .  
    After car was professionally painted the front end and rear ends were removed and restored and the underside of the
    car was detailed and painted a tan/light brown MERCEDES primer which was used on the cars when they were new !
    As far as I can tell this body still has original fenders - hood -trunk lid and doors -- I originally purchased this car in 2009
    from the original owner out of Maryland .   I traded it for a 190sl and just recently purchased it back out of a professional
    MERCEDES SL restoration shop that was overrun with restorations needing work ! In fact one picture is from when I got the car in 2009
    it is the one with the silver Porsche just showing on the right side and the red motorcycle set between them ! ( $28. 00 value for body with paint )
2. You get the correct matching 280SL engine that originally came with the car . It has been rebuilt and has ZERO miles on it .
     as you can see it has been detailed to show condition as well . You get all the accessories for the engine - fuel injection pump -lines
     alternator - distributor etc etc -- All linkage -exhaust manifolds - starter etc -- A complete engine . ( $10. 00 )
Note: - All parts of the engine have been restored - all nuts and bolts - lines - brackets etc have been cadmium plated so your engine will be in show condition !
3. Front suspension has been rebuilt and detailed -  new shocks - new rebuilt calipers - new lines  ( $1500 )
4. Rear suspension and differential - cleaned up detailed - new shocks - new rebuilt calipers ( $1500 )
5. Original factory wheels with very good tires - 4 original hubcaps included ( $1200 )
6. Power steering box - will include steering column and shaft as well as the steering wheel (  we will mount these items before shipping ) ( $1300)
7. Good 4 speed transmission - original to the car as well - cleaned - new fluid and detailed to better than new ! ( $1500 ) includes clutch plate and disc
8. Complete good wiring harness ( $1200) installed in the car
9. Soft top compartment lid with trunk hinges - springs and hardware - Value of items exceeds $1000 with ease
10. Complete foot pedal assemblies for brakes clutch and accelerator - with clutch master cylinder (rebuilt ) lines etc  $800 value

If you have a rusted 280sl with a non running engine - This one will save you tons of $$$$$$ 
You can not take a rusted 280sl with non running motor and duplicate what we are selling for anywhere near what we are letting this go for
DO THE MATH
Check ebay for a complete body sheet metal package of reproduction parts at $18. 00  -- then add $10. 00 ++++ to install it on your rusted car
so we are at $28. 00 and you still need that $4000 - $8000 paint job !  so we are up to $32. 00 -$36. 00    Then send you 280sl engine out for a rebuild with
METRIC MOTORS -- LONGBLOCK: $8. 50. 00 EXCHANGE is the going rate now . Add shipping costs of the engine both ways and you have $800 in shipping . Oh you need the fuel injection pump rebuilt - add $2500
Now rebuild your front suspension with new parts - shocks -calipers etc $600 - $800 -   less labor  .   Rear end clean with new brakes and shocks
$500 - $700 less labor   -DO THE MATH     This will set you back over $46. 00  !!!!  

So here is how it works for you --buy this car - then sell your chassis for $5000 - $10. 00 - get rid of your engine for $3000  trans for $1200
etc etc -- GET THE PICTURE !!!!    DO THE MATH --- and you do not have to live with all the frustrations people encounter when having body work done or engines rebuilt - not only with this save you big $$$$ on your project but it will save you lots and lots of time and time is MONEY !

Car comes with a CLEAR TITLE  as well
