I had several questions about the same topics so I thought to clarify.  The car has the hardware for first generation Autopilot. It is technology from a company called Mobileye. Tesla gave us a 30 day free trial and I didn't care for it. I found it useful on the interstate but not on lesser roads. You can turn the software on online for $3000 anytime. It is worth noting that Tesla has switched to a NVIDIA for the second generation Autopilot which is much more reliable.  Remember when you turn the autopilot on you are entrusting your life to a machine.
Autopilot 1 depends on 1 camera. it can't be upgraded to Autopilot 2 which gets feedback from 4 cameras.
Cold weather effect on range; if you are lucky enough. like me. to live in a northern state. you will notice that severe cold weather limits your range by up to 20%. This is a gradual process as the mercury drops. It is noticeable below zero. You can limit the effect by driving slower and avoiding sudden acceleration.
How fast is the 90D; Very fast. It can smoke a BMW M3 any day. There is no transmission so it accelerates freely at any speed. no downshifting. just goes with no lag. Best way to describe it is like a rollercoaster ride.
Would spending additional $40K to get P100D worth it. Not in my opinion. Unless you are a drag racer why would anyone need a car that does 0-60 in 2. 4 seconds. If you push one of those to the limit several times Tesla used to manipulate the software to cut the power although they said they will no longer do that.
Driving in snow. the car is heavy and AWD so theoretically it should drive great. We didn't get a whole lot of snow this year so I didn't test it out. If you live in a snowy environment I strongly recommend winter tires to improve the breaking in snow. Tesla sells a package of 19" rims. tires and TPMs for around $2500 which I think is a great deal but they tend to sell out every winter.
If you have any other questions. keep them coming. No question is a bad question.
