Up for your consideration is my 1972 Dodge Charger. an original FE5 Rallye Red car. The car has been fitted with SuperBee hood graphics by the previous owner. however SuperBee's weren't available as an option in ‘72. and this car is not being represented as a real SuperBee. The power bulge however is definitely genuine steel though.

The original 318 has been replaced with a mild mid-to-late 1970's 440 big block with an Edelbrock TM7 intake manifold and a 750cfm Holley carb. The car has electronic ignition with a vacuum advance distributor along with an MSD 6AL hidden inside the cowl.

Original options include air conditioning. power disc brakes. power steering. and hidden headlights—the hidden headlight motor is tired though and they need help opening. The underhood A/C hardware is missing.

The car has a new alternator. fuel pump. plug wires. and distributor. The distributor shown in some of the pics (an MSD) is not included with the car. The new stock replacement distributor has vacuum advance and it actually runs a lot better than with the MSD. All gauges work except for engine coolant temp—that gauge was damaged by a short (since fixed).

Tires are BfG radials mounted to replica rallye wheels—they have about 3. 00 miles on them.

Other mods include a Hellwing 1 1/4” front santi-roll bar which really helped flatten the car out through the twisties—it handled like a sailboat before!

Exhaust is a 3. 0” diameter TTI X-pipe system. custom ordered in stainless steel with turndowns at the rear bumper. I used Magnaflow stainless mufflers which hang a bit low—this hasn't been a problem but needs some final adjustments. For now I just used some adapters to mount to the factory exhaust manifolds with the intention of running headers one day. Some of the pics shown have the old exhaust in them.

I've also recently replaced the fuel and vent lines with big block-sized (3/8”) stainless steel fuel lines from Classic Tube. Oddly enough this car does not have that weird charcoal canister normally hidden in the rear driver's side fender well.

Rear axle is currently the original 8 1/4”. open differential. Unsure of the gear ratio. With the sale of the car I will include an 8 3/4” axle housing from another ‘72 Charger I had a long time ago. including axles. (No center section though).

Body is in overall good condition. It has been repainted and has a few sags that need to be polished out but overall the car presents well. The car has a reproduction rear wing and front spoiler.

Main floor pan has some rust in the rear passenger footwells. I have a complete AMD floor pan that I was going to use for replacement that goes with the car. Not sure if the whole panel will be needed or not.

Lower lip of the decklid has some rust. There are some bubbles started in the lower quarters behind the wheels—see pics for more. Quarter extensions. trunk. rocker boxes. inner fenders (all the usual Mopar spots) are in overall good shape.
