1964 Volvo Other

This is a good 1964 Volvo 1800S daily driver (after 80 hours of work) or great car for a full restoration.  Runs. drives. and brakes.  I purchased car from Kentucky were it was stored inside a old tobacco barn up on blocks for about 25 years.  Before coming to Kentucky it was in New Orleans for a unknown period of time.
Original white car with black interior.  The paint is very old and has many cracks.  Cracking is especially bad around drivers side headlight but metal behind paint is not rusted out.  Transmission shifts into all gears.  Overdrive works great.  Tachometer works but not accurate. Speedometer mechanism appears to be froze w/ speedo cable unhooked.  Center temp gauge not working.  Fuel gauge not connected to gas tank sender so not sure if it works.  Oil pressure gauge works well.  Clock is most likely not working.  Radio is not wired in.  Interior lights are untested.  Exterior lights all work.  Turn signal switch does not work.  
Car has four good tires and an old spare in the trunk.  Brakes function well but original brake booster has been bypassed since it leaked.  New aftermarket units can be bought for less than $300.  Rear brakes have been gone through.  Front brake calipers are like new.  Brake hoses have been replaced.  New master brake cylinder.  New master clutch cylinder.  New clutch slave cylinder.  New NOS rear axle straps.  Front and back Bilstein shocks.  New exhaust system.  Exhaust needs two more hangers to be secure.  Restored gas tank.  New fuel pump & filter.  Fluids all changed.  Carbs have been dissembled and clean.  New carb Jets.  Rare NOS disposable air filters.  New hood insulation kit. Comes with original trunk scissor jack.  A lot of time was spent to make this car mechanical sound. but I've only had time to drive it for about 10 miles.  I would recommend having car transported and road test It close to home while working car up to longer trips.
Interior is in good overall condition.  When the car came to me it had no interior or carpet.  Everything in the car now is from my personal inventory and I tried to pull the best of my used pieces.  Most of the interior actually came from another 64 parts car.  Headliner is in good condition with no rip but is dirty.  Sun visors are nice with good solid foam.  Upper & lower dash have been covered with plastic reproduction covers.  These covers are "ok" but new correct dash pads from "VP Autoparts" would look much better.  Exterior chrome pieces are in ok/good condition.  Glass around the car looks good besides some wiper marks on the front windshield.  I have a good front windshield from my inventory I'm including with the auction for the next owner if they choose to switch it out.
Overall the body of the car is pretty good. but it will need some repairs if you choose to restore the car.  Frame rails and floors are very solid with a few small holes in the floors that can be easily patched.  Battery box needs replaced as well as a small area of inner fender just in front of battery area.  The trunk floor will need to be repaired or replaced.  The lip of the trunk will also need repaired. Water sat in the channel and rusted it (common problem).  The fuel filler overflow area under the fuel door has 2-3 holes that need repair.  Because of the issues in the trunk area I'm including in this auction a complete rust free rear section of body cut from a 64 car I have.  This section will provide all the metal you need to make repairs if you choose to restore car.  Last rust issue is the drivers door shell.  The lower forward area is rusted out under the hinge mount.  This can only be seen from the inside when the door is open.  It appears a mouse made a nest inside the door and over the years that caused the door to rust front the inside out.  I may have a good door from inventory but I can't guarantee it.  If the car is being shipped and not picked up in person the rear body section I'm providing will have to be shipped separate at buyer expense or can be cut into pieces and placed in car during transport for no additional cost. So that is a very honest description of the body that most people will not provide.  I hope it helps.
