 “This is a nice clean solid and very original Corvette coupe with the exception of the cosmetic changes made on the exterior of the car.   This was an original Rally Red car that has been refinished a custom metallic red.   The side pipes appear to me to be original GM units but I do not know if they were factory installed.   I have checked the numbers on this engine and everything matches as it should for an original engine.   The transmission and rear differential look to be and are assumed to be original also.   An air conditioning system has been added.

This car belonged to a personal friend of mine in south east Kansas that I have known since my high school days in the early 1960's.   He purchased the car approximately 25 years ago and maybe 10 years ago had the car painted its current red color.   He also had a mild Comp Cam installed because his wife wanted a lopey idle.

The car has been driven little for many years and has primarily been in storage.   I just washed the dust off it and vacuumed it at the car wash.   It has not been detailed.   The car starts and drives out good as a 66 Corvette should.   I believe it be in good mechanical condition with the exception that we had to add brake fluid.   I assume it has a leaky caliper as this is a common issue if it has not been switched to stainless steel lined ones.

This is a nice quality muscle car but it is not perfect.   Two items I would point out that are not obvious from the photos are  1. The odometer is not working.  2. The body and paint finish look good but there is lots of overspray on the frame and under the car

Overall. this is a beautiful classic that gets a lot of attention and is a blast to drive.   When that 4 barrel carburetor kicks in and the air cleaner and side exhaust sound off and the Corvette pushes you back in the seat it will likely bring back some good memories as it did for me. ”
