vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this all numbers matching 1977 Trans Am is spectacular condition and with only 60. 95 original miles. The market on the 1977 Trans Am's is absolutely red hot right now and this example is priced to sell. It is verified as correct by Pontiac Historical Services and comes with the PHS report. Very low mileage and original examples of the second generation Trans Am's are exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. It even still has the very rare factory 8-Track player. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car. but also the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual. "

This Pontiac looks outstanding. runs great. and is and awesome driver. I have personally put over 35 miles on the car and during that time it was completely reliable and a pleasure to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Trans Am that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. The previous owner recently had the car repainted in the original color with new decals applied. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Sterling Silver (13) with Red decals over Firethorn Red Vinyl interior (71R). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified on the trim tag and PHS report. Please peruse all of the photos. video. and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this Trans Am really is.

Please note that this Trans Am is "numbers matching. " That means that the engine in the car is original and the same unit that was installed at the factory. The last six digits of the VIN. 195882. are stamped on the engine block and pictured below indicating that this is the original engine that was installed in the car brand new at the factory. The full stamping is "27N195882" and "2" indicates the Pontiac division of GM. the "7" is the model year. 1977. and the "N" is the plant where the car was produced. Norwood. OH. Also stamped on the block is the engine code "XA. quot; which is correct for a 400ci L78 engine with an automatic transmission.

The transmission is correct and original as well with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the case and pictured below. The transmission date code is also pictured below. J7D01D. The J" is the plant code. The "7" is the model year. 1978. The "D" indicates the month. the "01" is the day of the month. and the "D" is the work shift so the transmission was made on April 1. 1977 during the day shift. The paint and interior trim codes are also correct for this color combination and pictured below on the trim tag. This Trans Am rolled off the assemble line during the third week of April in 1977 (04C).

As a side note. this Trans Am is not a dealer auction vehicle.   We hand pick each car after careful inspection.   Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.   We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.   Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.   We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.   If you have a question about the Pontiac. just give us a call.

condition

Exterior

The Sterling Silver exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos. the paint has a great gloss. deep shine. and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely and do not sag. The wheels are in great shape with a nice finish and no curb rash. The tires are virtually brand new and are correctly sized 225/70R15. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some small blemishes around the car that are too small so show up in the photos. but nothing that is really noticeable from about 5 feet away. There are also some very light sanding marks visible. As one can seen in the many photos of the underside. this Trans Am is exceptionally clean underneath with much of the original red oxide primer still visible. It is totally solid with no rust issues. We have also included specific photos of the spring perches. lower front and rear quarters. and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.

Window Date Codes

Driver: LG - "T" denotes March and "G" denotes 1977 meaning the driver's side window was made in March of 1977.

Passenger: XG - "U" denotes February and "G" denotes 1977 meaning the passenger's side window was made in February of 1977.

Rear: LG - "T" denotes march and "G" denotes 1977 meaning the rear window was made in March of 1977.

Please note that almost all the glass on this car is date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of this third week of April. 1977 (04C). Original glass is another good indication of no major accident history.

Interior

The Firethorn Red interior of the Trans Am looks fantastic. The seats are in excellent condition with no tears. rips. or split seams. The carpet looks terrific with no stains. rips. or holes. The dash bezel looks amazing with a beautiful finish. The original door panels look great with no cracks or splits. and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The package tray looks great with no warping. fading. or sun damage. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash is in great condition with no fading or sun damage and a few very small hairline cracks. There is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever. Please note in the video below how both seat belts operate and retract properly. This is a very common problem on this era "F-Body" and a small. but very important. detail most buyers do not think to check. Trans Am interiors from this era are not known to wear well over time and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care this Trans Am has received throughout its life.

The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original space saver spare. inflator bottle. jack base. decals. and trunk mat.

Mechanical

This Trans Am appears to be in great mechanical condition and is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above I have driven the car over 35 miles with absolutely no issues at all. The Pontiac 400ci engine starts right away every time. idles well. and runs great. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph. shifting through all the gears. braking to a stoplight. and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well. runs great. there are no strange noises or vibrations. and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also. the engine bay is clean. nicely detailed. and correct as one can see from the photos. The horn works as do all the exterior lights. interior lights. indicators. wipers. and blower for the heater and a/c on all speeds. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The a/c works and blows cold. One can see the a/c compressor engaging properly in the video. This Trans Am has lots of power with the 400ci engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. especially with the T-Tops out on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall. this 1977 Trans Am is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. The market on for the second generation Trans Am is very strong right now. particularly for the 1977 & 1978 model years. and low mileage original cars are much more desirable. This Trans Am is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
