Extremely well preserved black plate California car. It has had one professional repaint on the exterior quite afew years ago that still looks great with only minor chip touch ups here and there from use. Very straight accident free panels with great gaps around doors. hood. and decklid. Paint under hood. door jambs. interior. and under rear decklid looks to be original. It even has the factory paint decal (indigo Blau L 436) next to the vin plate. Totally rust free. battery area is even original and solid. The interior remains mostly original retaining its square weave carpet and rubber floor mats. The carpet has some discoloring and a small wear spot along the front drivers side rocker. Seats are either older excellent reproduction(WCC)or NOS if not original. Drivers seat has a 1/4 inch cut as shown in pictures. Headliner was replaced at some point long ago. Canvas sunroof in excellent condition. Battery retains factory cover and hold down. Car retains all original sound deadening under hood. floors. and engine compartment. Wiring is original and excellent. guages are dated to car. Engine was upgraded to a later style single port but still retains its 36hp exhaust and heater boxes. Muffler is original VW. Carb is a Solex 28PCI and has correct Air cleaner. Synchronized 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly. Factory VW assessories(Not Reproduction) include kick plates in interior. pop out rear windows. mud flaps. and wheel discs. Wood slat roofrack is aftermarket. Chrome bumpers are original rechromed and in great shape. Black plates will go with car. This is a very honest car. very few left that have not been abused.
