I have for sale my 1959 Armstrong Siddeley "Star Sapphire" for sale. It is a great classic car to drive being fully automatic with power steering.
This is a very rare car and cars in this condition rarely come up for sale. It is kept in a heated garage and is used for weddings only. so only does 1500 miles per year.

The 4 litre engine has been overhauled and the head has been upgraded to run on unleaded petrol. The automatic gearbox has also been overhauled and the car runs very smooth. The brakes were renewed about two years ago and updated with a BMW 5 series servo. so they are better than when the car was new! The Star has had new front shock absorbers. plus an electric fuel pump fitted to replace the old mechanical type.

The leather interior has all been refubished to a very high standard. including a new head lining. The carpets were renewed about two years ago and are in great condition. To keep the original period appearance. I fitted a CD/tuner behind the original radio front. so it looks like a 1959 radio. The woodwork is in good condition with no fading or damage to the door caps and dash.

All four tyres have plenty of tread and are radials. I had some work done to the steering and had the ball joints replaced. at the same time the water hoses and fan belts on the cooling system were replaced. I had the heater radiator refurbished but have not fitted the tap that adjusts the heater. it works either hot or cold. nothing in between.

The underside of the car has had new sills and work done to both inner rear wings. Any rust was removed and replaced with new panels and it is now rust free and undersealed. It does not need any welding done and it is Mot'd to September 2014.

The Star comes with some servicing bills. old MOT's. Original parts catalogue. Original workshop manual and the owners handbook.

Good Star Sapphire have fetched £12. 00 upwards. so to buy this one with some very minor work to do on the heater is a good investment for a very useable classic car that is tax exempt. The next owner will not be disappointed or find any nasty suprises with their purchase.
