1966 MK 1 Mini Marcos  
After many months of restoration. we are selling our MK 1 Mini Marcos.
Marcos launched the Mini Marcos in 1966.  Less than 150 MK 1 models were made by Marcos. making this a very rare genuine little car. which is eligible for historic racing.
Marcos entered the Mini Marcos at Le Mans in 1966. It was the only British car to finish. racing against Ford GT40's. Ferrari and Porsche and it completed 2152 miles at an average speed of over 90 miles an hour. and in fact achieved 141 mph on the Mulsanne straight.
The Mini Marcos still holds four National Land Speed Records to this day .
We purchased the car some years ago. it had never been finished. so we completely stripped it. restored it back to original condition and had it registered for road use. This is the first time it has ever been on the road.  
The car is completely original with the correct dashboard. original Mini Marcos seats. totally original bodywork with all of the MK 1 original features etc.
Here at Marcos Heritage Spares. we have carried out the following work:
Exterior - To prepare and completely repaint the vehicle in light blue with orange stripe detail. Refurbish and paint original 10" wheels. Replace all rubber seals - boot seal. rear screen gasket & filler strip. door seals. front windscreen seal and filler strip. Replace windscreen. chrome washer jets. wiper chrome bezels. wiper arms & blades. Fit new door mirrors. Fit new indicators. rear reflectors. refurbish front and rear lights. To replace door hinge gaskets.  
Mechanical - To fit new front subframe including all mounting bushes etc. To replace CV gaiters. ball joint kits. front lower arm bushes. track rod ends. tie rod. four suspension cones. fit hi-low suspension kit. suspension ball joints. front and rear Protech shock absorbers. shock absorber mounting kits. front shock absorber upper mounts. rear wheel bearings. n/s stub axle. nbsp;
Engine & Gearbox - To carry out engine rebuild including new crankshaft bearings. pistons rings. and new clutch assembly. Fit new distributor cap. rotor arm. thermostat. To replace oil pressure pipe. To refurbish carburettors and tune engine.
Brakes. Clutch & Fuel - To replace all brake. fuel and clutch lines. Replace front and rear brake flexible hoses. Replace front and rear wheel cylinders. Replace handbrake quadrant and cable. To replace fuel tank sender unit. gasket. fuel tank pick up pipe and hose. To replace fuel filter. To replace fuel filler neck hose. and period style filler cap. To replace clutch slave cylinder. clutch master cylinder and brake master cylinder. bleed systems.
Exhaust - To replace exhaust system and clamp.  
Interior - To strip out complete interior. To fit new underfelt and full black carpet set. Replace headlining. Refurbish and retain original seats. Recover interior trim panels in black. Replace handbrake gaiter. Replace windscreen pillar fillets. Replace interior mirror. Fit seatbelts. Replace dash panel with engine turned aluminium. replace all instruments. switches and vents. fit starter button.   
Misc - To supply and fit new battery box. new battery. battery cable and terminal connectors. To replace heater ducting pipe and heater hose as required. To replace windscreen washer bottle. pump and pipe.  
The car is eligible for classic Le Mans. Goodwood Revival etc. or could be left as a road car . It is MOT'd. tax exempt and ready to go!
