Relisted due to an ebay policy breach. (I mentioned a potential competitor in the listing!!).
Hello and welcome to my listing for this rare truck in the UK. This is clearly a specialist vehicle and is one of the largest passenger cars available. I bought it 12 months ago to use primarily as a tow vehicle although my girlfriend has also had a lot of fun taking the kids on trips out in it! I'm now selling it as the amount of towing I do no longer warrants keeping it for the odd jouney out.
It can carry seven people in comfort for hours with no drama and makes towing a very stress free experience. I have done 6000 miles in it over the last year with approximately 2500 of those miles towing a large car transporter trailer with various vehicles on the back. It has heated electric seats and is very easy to drive. It has an advantage over pick up trucks in that it is not a commercial vehicle so you shouldn't need a tacho. The police have never bothered me when towing all sorts off vehicles on a large car transporter (pictured). Even in central London.
I've just serviced it this week with new oil and filters and a new battery. It took seven litres of synthetic oil! My mechanic also did an engine flush out at the same time so you won't need to change the oil for a while. The engine and box are smooth with no known issues. The auto box also has a towing facility where you simply press a button on the end of the shifter which holds the gears longer although to be honest I only use it in hilly areas as it doesn't struggle for power and it does use more fuel in this mode. Speaking of which it does around 19 mpg or 17 mpg when towing. I guess you can't have it both ways but do consider that if you buy a similar vehicle with a diesel engine such as a Dodge Ram Cummins it will cost more in Diesel and you run the risk of turbo failure. I know this as it happened to my friends truck when he needed a new turbo.
Condition wise it does look its age and was originally blue. It was painted black for the film The Green Zone in which it featured. If you are considering a large tow vehicle this one comes in at 10% of the cost of a new Suburban and it will last years longer if looked after.
The insurance cost me £350. 00 fully comp and the road tax is the lower rate around £245. 00 a year. You can get parts cheaply from CM Frost in Northamptonshire and I was amazed that when I recently needed a new windscreen due to a bad stone chip I just rang my insurers and they sorted me out with a new one for £80. 00.
