VIDEO PRESENTATION. BELOW

The Essex was a brand of automobile produced by the Essex Motor Company from 1918-1922 and Hudson Motor Company of Detroit. Michigan between 1922 and 1932.  Thus meaning not many were built and are very rare to come by if you are in the market.

This Essex has been resto-mod restored with many new modern features. However. there is still many features installed which were originally equipped on the vehicle. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is very proud to present this 1931 Essex Sedan Super Six.

The exterior still looks as good as it did back in 1931. The car has been painted black which can be determined was the factory color. Starting up front. you first notice the massive front fenders on either side of the huge chrome front bumper.

Also. much first notice the sheer size of the front headlights mounted on both sides of the grill. These provide plenty of visibility in any night driving condition. Smaller lights are also seen further back towards the front doors.

The flip up front windshield can provide natural air conditioning to cool you as you drive slowly around town on those spring and fall times.

Out back. you can see the wooden luggage holder or "trunk" as we would call it today. Showing that the owner still wanted to keep some of the original feel while still adding the newer parts.

Once you open the doors of this 1931 Essex you will be taken back 82 years. With a custom interior black on black as the exterior. The seats are covered in black leather.

With a custom Essex Super Six steering wheel and personalized gauges which are all in proper working order.

For this car being around 82 years old. you can see that it has withstood the test time of the and that every owner the Essex may have had has taken great care of it. The overall body is in great condition and shows no signs of rust.

Equipped with an overhead  radio. working properly and transmitting the sound through speakers located in the rear of the car.

Adding
to the interior vintage air to keep yourself as warm as you would like for the winter days or as cool as desired for those summer heat.

The suspension was upgraded in the front by adding a "mustang 2" front clip and also a pair of disk brakes. All while drum brakes can be found in the rear.

These provide plenty of stopping power to bring this beats  to a halt at any speed. The power is connected to the pavement by a pair of 235/75R15 tired mounted on two tone black and chrome dog dish wheels. 215/70R14 tires are what is found on the front.

Now to the power plant of the automobile. the engine was one of the biggest modern day additions to the vehicle. The car is now equipped with a Chevy Small Block V8 engine which is now linked to a new 700R automatic transmission. ending up all the way back to the Ford 8" rear end. The owner traded a car for the Essex. and is not sure when the build was done. The engine appears to be a 327ci.

So you now get the style and beauty of the 1930's but the raw power of the 20th century. The engine is carbureted with a polished valve covers and heat wrapped custom headers. Meaning that the original max speed of around 60mph is thrown out the window when you mash the throttle on the highway at 70mph to overtake other slow drivers.
