Up for sale is my 1970 Kaiser Jeep XM818 bobbed 5 ton truck.   I bought this truck from the military in 2010.   It was originally a 6 x 6 road tractor.   A couple of years ago I set it up to use as a spare truck to pull my gooseneck trailer.   I put 22. 5” tires on for this but I have now put the 20” combat wheels with 14. 00 tires back on it.   The truck is old and crusty.   It is being sold as is.   I have installed a 12 volt transformer for electric trailer brakes and the plug on the rear is a stand 7 pin plug like most new trailers have with everything 12 volts.   I drove the truck about 8 hours a few years ago with a big trailer behind it and everything worked well.   The brake box would slow the truck when activated.   The lights worked well too.   The bed will dump (not very much weight though) and it easily removes for 5th wheel use.    The dump parts are out of the way of the hitch and stay on the truck.   The dump is operated by a 12 volt pump and battery mounted in one of the battery boxes.   The truck as bobbed using the rear springs and hangers from another 5 ton truck.   Here's list of the good things:

*30. 00 pound gooseneck hitch below bed

*12 volt power for towing. etc.

*Very stout receiver hitch (see pictures)

*Light weight dump bed

*Keyed ignition switch

Here's the know defects:

*Oil leak on the front of the motor

*Steering is loose

*Tires are old

*Engine shut off not work properly

*Cracked glass

There may be other defects not mentioned.   Some of these defects have been there for years and I just didn't care.   The last time I drove the truck was in October.   I drove it 150 miles to the Georgia Military truck rally.   It had all the defects except the tires then.  I no longer have the gooseneck trailer so I just don't need this truck and the tag expires at the end of the month.   I would like to sell it by then.   Vehicle is located in Blythewood. SC.

Please note this truck has extensive modifications.   It has sat most of the time I have had it.   It is 47 years old.

If the buys wants. I have two more tires mounted on wheels that can go with the truck.   Also 4 new wheels and two unmounted tires.   As far as I am concerned the tires are too old to safely drive on the street.   That's why I put the smaller 22. 5 wheels on it for the last two years.   This is my last big military truck so all these wheels and tires need to go.   I would not recommend driving this over a couple hours to get it home.   If you are thinking about shipping. the truck is huge and heavy.   If you are interested make an offer.   Please ask any questions and I will answer them as quickly as possible.   Thanks
