1971 Plymouth Road Runner. All original unmolested real RM 23 Code car.
383 c. i. . 727 Transmission with the 8-3/4 rear end. Vin number: RM23N1E109349
Mileage is 131. 07 miles.
This is an all original 383 c. i. bucket seat factory AC car. This car has not been molested or modified in any way. Original fender tag still in place and is pictured for decoding. I am the 3rd owner and have been working on it for 11 years in my spare time. It was built at the Irvine California plant and the first owner lived in Laguna Nigel. Ca. I have the page with picture out of the California Auto Trader when the 1st owner sold it. The second owner lived in Kingman. AZ where I bought the car.
It has a new 400 hp engine built by Dan Sleep Racing in Kingman. New 727 transmission with shift kit built by Dan Sleep Racing in Kingman. Tuned torque converter from Continental Converters. Motor and transmission have about 5. 00 miles on them. The engine compartment was painted before the new motor went in. The front end was completely rebuilt a few years back at Big-O Tires. All new staggered tires. Has the Original Mopar Rally wheels with center caps. New rear axle bearings and axle seals. Front rotors have been turned with all new brakes. New rear axle bearings and seals but the rear axles will need shims installed because the new rear axle seals are starting to leak. This is a common fix on axles that are over 40 years old. You can get these shims from NAPA or on Mopar sites. I have all the receipts on the engine work.
Interior is all original and is very nice. Original Tuff Wheel steering wheel. Original headliner is beautiful with no sags. rips or tears. New correct grain dash pad from Just Dashes and new carpet. Has new correct bucket seat rear upholstery from Legendary Auto Interiors in the back seat that was professionally installed. The front buckets seats still need to be done so they have seat covers on them now. The dash is all original and uncut and has a new NOS Road Runner Bird on it. I still have the original side by side knob radio but it is not in the car because it needs repair. I had a professional body man look at the car recently and he said the car has had 1 repaint probably in the late 70's. The paint is the original W3 white and still shines. It has been washed. waxed and buffed for many. many years so it has a few patina spots. The chrome on the front and rear bumpers is very nice considering it is 46 years old. The entire 3 piece grille is perfect and has no cracks or chips. New reproduction tail light lens and front side marker lights. New Circle Bird decal on trunk lid. new Plymouth ring decal on front header panel and new 383 hood depression decals. I have 2 new Running Bird decals and 2 new hood depression strobe stripe decals but have not installed them yet. I have still not hooked up the AC yet but I have the 2 original hoses that were removed when the engine compartment was painted and I have put a new AC clutch on the York compressor so it is ready to go. All other AC components are there on the car.
This car is all original except for 2 mechanical things. 1. ) Because of the long duration lopey Mopar Purple cam it has a vacuum pump from Stainless Steel Brakes for the power brake booster but it is hidden underneath the front drivers side fender where it cannot be seen. 2. ) The engine has headers on it but I have the original 383 exhaust manifolds if some wanted to put them back on to show the car as being all original. The headers run into a dual exhaust system with a crossover running through 40 series mufflers. It has a very nice hollow low rumble.
This in not a perfect show car. In my opinion it would require at least another $2. 00. 00 to $4. 00. 00 to get it there but it turns heads and gets thumbs up everywhere you drive it. It is a 25 footer. The body has the usual Mopar 2 small rust spots right in front of the rear wheel wells. (These 2 rust spots do not need the usual patch panel. The passenger side is a rust through about 4" in diameter. the drivers side is just bubbling. I would just use Eastwood's rust converter and body filler and call it good. )  It also has a small dent (about a 1/2 deep) in the passenger side rear quarter which had been fixed by the original owner but needs done again. The trunk pan has one small rust seam about 6" long that can be filled. It does not need a new trunk pan. There is no other rust underneath the car or inside the sub frame rails that you usually find. The car has perfect floors in it which were painted before the new carpet got installed. It has a few small dings as you would expect on any 46 year old car that has never been painted.

The best way to get all the information about the car is to call me or come see it in person. I built this car for my wife but she hardy ever drives it anymore. Just back and forth to work sometimes.
If you would like more pictures of any part of the car just ask and I can text or email them to you.
