CONVERTIBLE (862) WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THROUGH A BROKER FROM THE ESTATE OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNER DROVE THE CAR LESS THAN 9. 00 MILES AND THEN PARKED IT INSIDE HIS GARAGE FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS. WHEN WE PURCHASED THE CAR. THE ORIGINAL GOODYEAR TIRES WERE COMPLETELY DRY ROTTED. THE CAR STILL RETAINS THE ORIGINAL GOODYEAR 205/60 R14 SPARE TIRE. WE HAD TO INSTALL A NEW SET OF P205/60 R14 SUMITOMO TIRES TO BE ABLE TO ROLL THE CAR. THE CAR WAS EXPOSED TO THE SUN THROUGH THE WINDOWS IN THE REAR AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR. THEREFORE. THERE ARE SOME PAINT OXIDATION ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND REAR AREAS. OF COURSE THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING AT THE TIME. OUR TECHNICIAN DRAINED THE FUEL TANK. BLOW OUT THE FUEL LINES. CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER. REMOVED THE SPARK PLUGS TO SPRAY THE CYLINDERS WITH MARVEL MYSTERY OIL TO SOAK OVERNIGHT. NEW SPARK PLUGS INSTALLED. A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED. A NEW FUEL PUMP AND FILTER INSTALLED. AND THE CAR STARTED. WE CHECKED ALL THE GAUGES. OIL PRESSURE. AND THE CLUTCH WAS FUNCTIONING. HOWEVER IT DID NOT STAY IDLE FOR LONG. WE BELIEVE THAT THE BOSCH FUEL DISTRIBUTOR ( SIMILAR TO THE EARLY 1980'S VOLVO FUEL DISTRIBUTOR ) IS GUMMED UP AND PERHAPS NEEDS A NEW FUEL REGULATOR. THIS TVR IS CURRENTLY "NOT" RUNNING. THE UNDER-CARRIAGE. SUSPENSION. AND THE STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST SYSTEM ARE IN INCREDIBLE CONDITION. OWN A PIECE OF THE HISTORY. THE ORIGINAL PAINT IS NICE AND GLOSSY FOR MOST PARTS EXCEPT THE PARTS THAT WERE EXPOSED TO THE SUN AND HEAT THROUGH GARAGE WINDOWS. THE FACTORY TUBULAR FRAME IS NEAR MINT CONDITION AND WITHOUT ANY CORROSION ( SEE PHOTOS AT THE END OF THE LISTING). THE FIBERGLASS FLOOR PANS ARE FLAWLESS. THESE CARS CAME WITH A VERY INTERESTING TARGA/CONVERTIBLE TOP CONFIGURATION. THE TARGA TOP CAN BE REMOVED INDIVIDUALLY AND STORED IN THE TRUNK INSIDE A STOWAGE BAG OR FOLD DOWN THE WHOLE TOP. THE AMAZING PART IS THERE ARE NO LATCHES. ONLY TWO RETRACTABLE BARS DO ALL THE WORK. THE ORIGINAL TAN TOP HAS SOME STAINS AND THE BACK WINDOW HAS SLIGHTLY DISCOLORED BUT SERVICEABLE. THE ORIGINAL STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST SYSTEM IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE ORIGINAL MOMO ALLOY WHEELS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH SOME CURB RASHES. THE WINDSHIELD. SIDE WINDOWS. AND LIGHT LENSES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. INTERIOR: ONCE AGAIN. THIS CAR WAS PARKED INSIDE A GARAGE WITH THE WINDOWS UP AND PARTIALLY EXPOSED TO THE SUN. THE SEATS ARE IN NICE CONDITION BUT A LITTLE DRY. THE PASSENGER SIDE BOTTOM CUSHION ( EXPOSED TO SUN AND HEAT) HAS SOME CRACKS. THE ORIGINAL DASH. DOOR PANELS. INSTRUMENT PANEL. WOOD VENEERS. SUN VISORS. CARPETS. AND STEERING WHEEL ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. MECHANICAL: AS WE DESCRIBE EARLIER. THE ENGINE TURNS NICELY AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. HOWEVER. DUE TO A MALFUNCTIONING BOSCH FUEL DISTRIBUTOR AND PERHAPS A FUEL REGULATOR THE CAR DOES NOT START. WE ARE POSITIVE THAT THE ENGINE. TRANSMISSION. CLUTCH. AND REAR END ARE IN WORKING CONDITION AS WE HAD SOME LUCK WHEN WE JUST GOT THE CAR RUNNING. OUR TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE BATTERY. SPARK PLUGS. PERFORMED AN OIL AND FILTER SERVICE. DRAINED THE FUEL TANK AND LINES. INSTALLED A NEW FUEL PUMP AND FILTER. REPLACED THE 3 RUBBER BRAKE LINES. FLUSHED AND REPLACED THE BRAKE FLUID. REBUILD THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. THE BRAKES FUNCTION PROPERLY. HOWEVER. SOMETIME THE REAR BRAKE CALIPERS STICK AND WANT TO LOCK UP ONE OR BOTH REAR WHEELS. THE REAR BRAKE CALIPERS NEED TO BE REBUILD. MOST OF THE BRAKE AND SUSPENSION OF THE TVR ARE FROM THE 1980'S JAGUAR XJS. THEREFORE. THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE AND AVAILABLE.   ELECTRICAL: THE POWER WINDOWS. HEATER AND A/C FAN. AND SOME OF THE LIGHTS WORK. I AM SURE ALL THE CONTACTS NEED TO BE INSPECTED. THE ELECTRIC HEADLIGHTS WILL FLIP OPEN AND CLOSE WITH EASE. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS VERY CLEAN FOR A CAR THAT WAS PARKED FOR 30 YEARS. THE ORIGINAL HOOD PAD IS STILL INTACT. TRUNK: THE TRUNK IS VERY NICE AND CLEAN. IT HOUSES THE SPARE TIRE. ORIGINAL JACK AND LUG WRENCH. AND THE TARGA TOP IF NECESSARY WE HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE A 34 YEAR OLD CAR THAT HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS. IT IS CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING. THERE MAY BE SOME REPAIRS NECESSARY TO GET THE CAR STARTED AND MAKE IT ROADWORTHY. THEREFORE. THE WINNING BIDDER NEEDS TO BE UNDERSTANDING ABOUT IT.   THIS VEHICLE WILL BE SOLD "AS IS" AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES. NO RETURNS. NO REFUNDS. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of auction close. We prefer Bank wire transfer for the remaining balance.   If the purchaser choses to pay with a Cashier's check. the vehicle and the ownership documents would not be released for minimum of 7 days or when the check clears our Bank.

Out of state buyers are not charged tax. title. or license fees but are reponsible for any applicable taxes and fees in their own state. Georgia residents are responsible for  paying the  TAVT ( title ad valorem tax) taxes due at the county of their residences. The customer is responsible for registering the vehicle in their home state. You will receive 30-day in-transit tags.
