A REAL PIECE OF HONDA HERITAGE !!!!

THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN WELDED OR RESTORED!

THIS STUNNING CONDITION CAR THAT SHOULD EITHER GO IN A MUSEUM OR BE TAKEN TO CAR SHOWS WHERE I'M SURE IT WOULD WIN ITS CLASS !! I`M NOT SURE WHAT THE DEFINITION OF CONCOURS IS. HOWEVER THIS CAR MUST BE CLOSE.

I have been an avid enthusiast of early Honda Civic`s for the last 20 years and have probably had over 50 of them!! I would spend month in and month out trawling the UK for them and at one point owned 7 at one time!

Over the last couple of years my lifestyle has changed and as I now more than 15 classic cars and I have made the gut wrenching decision to part company with some of them.

Last year I sold 2 of my other Civics

1 was a 1977 S Hondamatic in Highland Blue with 24000 miles for £6600

1 was a 1977 S Hondamatic in Cheyne Gold with 14. 00 miles for £6800

Both of these cars were in superb condition BUT not in the same class or Condition as this car!!!

Recently. Ive seen a couple of tarted up examples claiming to be fully restored with 40. 00 + miles selling for circa £4. 00!! One of these so called restored cars actually had the chrome bumpers painted silver!!!!!!!!!

This is without doubt the best Civic I have ever owned. and I really saddened that I have to part with it!!

Let me give you a little bit of history about OLW 996P !!!

The car was purchased new on the 1st April 1976 by a very wealthy Japanese Lady who lived in London and kept the car parked in an underground heated garage owned by Iniveral Parking Ltd . She also owned a Jensen Intercepter which was kept alongside the Little Honda. Much of her time was spent outside of the UK returning only occasionally. Iniveral Parking ltd had keys to both cars and were instructed to make sure they were regularly started . However for no know reason she never returned and as a result the Honda spent nearly 26 years in the car park accumulating a very hefty parking/storage bill together with the Jensen. In 2002 due to the storage charges not being paid Iniveral Parking through the courts claimed legal title to the Honda and the Jensen. They in turn became the 2nd recorded keeper when the car had covered a little over 8. 00 miles (I have V5 copies of this).

The Honda and the Jensen were then re sold as a pair to a Mr Robert Townsend although he only really wanted the Jensen and the Cherished number plate off the Honda Civic (100 FYK). He became the 3rd recorded keeper.

I purchased the car from Robert Townsend on the 30th November 2003 so have owned it for 10 years (I have a letter from him outlining how he purchased the car from the parking company and confirming the mileage of 8. 79 miles)

During my ownership the car was DETAILED regularly maintained and wanted for nothing !

Over the last 10 years I have regularly started the car. and changed the oil and filter annually. As a result OLW 996P is in the same condition as when I acquired it.

When I purchased the car from Robert Townsend he stressed to me that at great expense (£500 +) he had a bespoke stainless steel exhaust system manufactured for the car as he was advised that the mild steel systems rotted through on a regular basis.

Last week. the car had a full service prior to sale. This included the following:

NEW CAMBELT FITTED

NEW HT LEADS

4 NEW SPARK PLUGS

NEW DISTRIBUTOR CAP

NEW ROTOR ARM

NEW POINTS AND CONDENSER

NEW OIL AND FILTER

NEW AIR FILTER

NEW FUEL FILTER

FUEL TANK CHEMICALLY CLEANED BY GUILDFORD RADIATORS

FRONT CALIPERS CLEANED AND SERVICED

Needless to say the car runs beautifully and the engine is tight and taught as you would expect from a Honda with only 8. 00 miles. Please. see the video.

Quite simply this Civic is UNIQUE and must be one of if not the best example left. It has NEVER been restored. The only work I undertook was to have the wheels removed and sent away to be repainted and any areas of minor imperfection corrected on an on-going basis.

Obviously. I have not owned this car from new and cannot comment on whether the car has any paintwork in the 27 years prior to my acquisition.

OLW 996P STILL LOOKS LIKE A NEW CAR !!!!!!!!

THE CHROME IS PERFECT

THE BODYWORK LOOKS LIKE IT DID THE DAY THE CAR WAS REGISTERED AS THE CAR WAS UNDERSEALED WHEN NEW SO THE UNDERNEATH STILL LOOKS NEW (YOU COULD EAT OFF THE SILLS !!!!!!!!)

THE INTERIOR IS amazing for a 37 year old car. Please see the detailed photos.

THE ENGINE IS SILKY QUIET AND RUNS LIKE A LITTLE SEWING MACHINE

THE CAR DRIVES LIKE THE DAY IT CAME OUT OF HONDA`S SHOWROOM

I have the MOT dated 01/10/2002 when the mileage was 8. 79

31/10/2003 when the mileage was 8. 04

From 2004 I have copies of all the SORN declarations

I have the original Civic 1200 owners manual

I have the V5C in my name

The original Hitachi Car Radio Book

Whoever buys this car will be totally delighted as it's truly amazing. The car has had such a pampered life for the last 37 years!! It's a very special car and deserves a very special new home !!

The condition of my car is absolutely stunning. It is as close as you will find to as new condition. and is hard to believe that it is a 36 year old Honda. There are no parking dents or scratches or rust anywhere on the body. This car really is a show stopper and draws admiring glances. and comments wherever it goes. "I haven't seen one of those for years. it's like new!" being the most frequent comment.

These are now becoming VERY RARE and as with many early Japanese cars very sought after both here and overseas.

Early Civics are generally rust buckets and often require full restorations. Parts are scarce and restored cars lose the originality and patina of a genuine unmolested. unrestored example.

I have found. over the years of collecting and obsessing the mark 1 Civic. that buying a cheap rusty. tired and tatty example with the intention of restoring to a show condition and thus saving money to be a TOTAL FALSE ECONOMY!

Values of these scarce cars are going one way and pinnacle examples like mine are like finding hens teeth.

A very rare and unique car and A REAL INVESTMENT at £7. 95!!!!

I am happy to show the car to genuine serious enquiries
