1981 DeLorean DMC 12

Nice. used DeLorean for sale. I have owned this car since 1999.   It has always been garaged. or driven occasionally.   I take it out and warm it up regularly.   It has regular maintenance done as needed over the years.   I would not let the car go. but we are getting another DeLorean with automatic that everyone in the family can drive.  

**REVISED LISTING:  I have added many more pictures!   I think the underside looks good.   The dash is good. compared to many of the DeLoreans I have seen.   There is a defect in the top loover on the the loovers at the rear of the car.   I think someone would fix this with a bit of compound. sanding and paint. The structural integrity is fine.    I have lowered the starting bid!   Also. there IS a reserve on the car. but if I find it is too high. I will consider lowering it.    Again. please ask questions and ask for more pictures if you need them**

Fuel cap is under the hood.   Really a nice car. I have kept a custom-fit dash cover on the car since I bought it.   Very little fading and dash and binnacle have no noticeable cracks. Floor mats are gray. in the style of the original ones. but are replacements and in very good shape.   I will add pictures if you need to see something else.   Please let me know if  you have any questions.   I am a LONG time seller. but I haven't sold or bought a car on eBay so I probably have forgotten to mention something.

What it needs that I know of:  There is a door ding above the left wheel that could be repaired.   The exhaust manifold leaks. so there is a bit of a putt-putt sound on acceleration:  also could be repaired but would best be done if/when upgrading to custom exhaust system.   Needs new leather seat covers.   There is a tear in the shifter boot.   The sound system doesn't work:  I think this might be a fuse and will check!  Also. I think I have the original factory stereo cassette in the house and I will look.   The AC is still on the original freon and could be upgraded to the newer refrigerant. The power antenna doesn't extend automatically.   There are probably a few more things and I will try to add but nothing more other than minor things so far as I know.    Nice car and mostly original. except as necessary to maintain.   I think the drivers manual is in the glove box in it's plastic sleeve.   Car is sold as-is. where is.

Things that have been done:  There is a replacement stainless steel coolant overflow tank replacing the original plastic one. which I can include with the car.   The inadequate original alternator was replace with a more powerful AC Delco. Heat shield behind muffler was replaced.

New parts included with the car:  I bought a kit to allow coolant to be easily bled for air. which I haven't installed.   I have a new otterstat coolant sensor which is designed to turn the engine cooling fans on at a lower temperature. which could also be installed.  

$500 deposit due within 48 hours of auction close.   Cashiers check for balance due at delivery from a verifiable bank or source.   We will close this at my local bank.
