1964 Chevrolet Corvette

The 1963/1964 was the new Corvette Stingray design that captured the attention of the world's sports car market.   The Corvettes from 1953 to 1962 were really an archaic design in terms of the chassis engineering.   In 1963/1964 the Stingray had independent rear suspension and became a very honest sports car that received international respect.   From the car collectors point of view seems to be that the first two years of a series and the last year of the series often become the most collectible.

The car in this eBay auction as presented by MissChiTown. the marketing arm for the private seller on eBay is a very stunning looking car!  From its amazing red exterior to its black interior and black soft top accented by the beautiful knock off turbine wheels (with the proper size white wall tires) really set this car off!  The current owner purchased this car with the original engine but wanted a fantastic driver.   So rather than have the original engine (that seemed to be running ok) reworked. he purchased at a large expense a crate 350 engine and put it into this Corvette.

In reference to the original engine. it has been put into a wooden crate and will go with the car so that the owner can have the option of driving a car with a virtually brand new engine but also know that he has the original engine.

The private seller tells us that this car is an excellent runner and there are no issues with the car and it makes a beautiful showing as a street car.   The car is located in Florida and the owner uses it as his winter driver when he is in Florida. never putting very many miles on it.

The owner describes this car as follows:

Beautiful red corvette convertible with a mirror like finish.  

This sweet ride is a real head turner and comes with power steering. power brakes. power windows and a rag top that has rarely been used. The car underwent a restoration in 2008 prior to being purchased by the current owner. This excellent driver has a new (approximately 1500 miles) GM crate motor. The original numbers matching 327 L76 motor is bagged and sitting in the crate. The original motor was in running condition although it was in need of a rebuild.  

The aluminum wheels are after market knock offs and provide a stylish and sporty look. There is a Alpine audio system installed. Nothing in this system is bolted to the car. All mountings are pressure mounts and should you wish to un-install it will be a breeze. The front speakers are behind custom kick panels. The original kick panels will be included in the car.   

There is some minor paint damage where the passenger door meets the body. This is rub damage from the rag top and is relatively common. There is some corrosion on the antenna. The current mileage may not be completely accurate. When I purchased the vehicle. the odometer was showing what looked like approximately 55. 00 miles. However. the first five was sitting incorrectly and there real mileage was around 35. 00. The current owner has put about 12. 00 miles on it.

It is important to note that this car has been loved during the time that the current owner has had it for the last 8 ½ years and he even has a cloth cover that goes with the car.   The owner has taken the car on 400 mile trips and says it runs sweet with no running issues.   The car has power steering. power brakes and the desirable power windows.

If you are looking for a car that is a great driver and not a trailer queen that you need to have a guard standing next to it every time you park it. but is still a highly impressive and impacting car when you do park it…this could be the car for you.  

Again the reserve is extremely low (please don't ask).   Keep in mind that great looking Corvettes that are priced well below the market in terms of the reserve are really a rare find.

Please note that the total mileage for this 1964 Corvette is estimated by the private seller.   The owner knows that he has put on approximately 12. 00 miles during his ownership and that is why we indicated the mileage as required by eBay.   The exact mileage on this car is not known but is an estimate by the owner as per his comments above.
