1973 Datsun 240z w/ JDM Rb25det for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 850 votes

Purchased this 7 years ago from a guy in St. Paul who brought it up from Arizona.   The engine swap was done 4 years ago. body and paint 3 years ago.   Car runs like a dream. does not leak anything.  When put on the dyno back when the car was first done at 11psi boost it made 299 hp at the wheel on a mustang dyno.   That was with the original t3/t4 60 trim garret turbocharger.   The holset is running 15-18 psi (depending on my mood) and it is making WAY more power.   My butt dyno tells me in the 375-400 range.    It has been the most reliable car I have owned in a long time.   This is the essence of a turn key and drive custom car.   A lot of love and a ridiculous amount of time went into building this over the last 7 years.  I would not hesitate to drive this thing cross country if I had to.  Been my baby for a long time but I'm getting married and the bills are piling up.

Engine

JDM R33 Rb25det 2. 5 liter turbo (approx 350-400 whp)

Greddy style intake manifold (portmatched and powdercoated)

QX 56 Throttle body

DSM 450cc injectors

Billet high flow fuel rail

Custom built 6 into 1 turbo manifold (built by RS Motors)

Holset HX35 turbo. custom t3 compressor housing. polished turbine housing

AN -8 turbo drain line

Very rare OEM Nissan 200ZR oil pan (rear sump)

SDS standalone ECU

Precision FMIC

3” turbo back exhaust

Borla muffler / vibrant resonator

Full Blown Manual boost controller

AEM wide band

AEM fuel pressure regulator

-6 fuel lines throughout

New 3/8” aluminum fuel line front to back

Walbro CSL392 hi flow fuel pump

ACT stage 2 clutch

Lightened 19lb flywheel

Black wrinkle finish powder coated valve covers

2. 5” custom made intercooler piping

Wiring harness re-done from scratch

Griffon Aluminum radiator

Notes: Could probably use a bit of dyno time. still running a little on the rich side.   There is no drivability problems what so ever.  but would give a little more power and improve MPG (currently will get 28 hwy)

Suspension/Driveline

16”x8” XXR 0 offset wheels

Kumho tires (plenty of tread)

Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustable shocks

Custom drop springs

Full poly bushings

Custom shortened driveshaft

Custom RT style diff mount

Subaru STI rear diff swap 3. 9 ratio with custom made output shaft adapters from Beta motorsports

Notes: Poly bushings cause a little vibration at higher speed but nothing too uncomfortable

Body

Whole car was body worked and re painted in Lexus grey metallic

Shaved side trim

Shaved antenna

Shaved engine bay

Shaved corner markers

Shaved emblems

Shaved hatch lock

JDM datsun zg flares painted rally black

Rear tail light bezel painted rally black

New front lower valance with brake ducts

Early model Z bumpers (no holes for the override bars)

Custom made bumper brackets to flush bumpers to body

Notes: there is a some small bubbles that popped up on the wiper cowl in the last couple years.   Also the front valance needs to be repainted since I bumper a snow pile when pulling it out of storage last year.   All of the body work and paint was done by a reputable. high end body shop (no Abra or Macco)

Interior

Recaro seats from VW Corrado w/ custom brackets

Custom door cards (one of a kind handmade)

All functional OEM gauges (except ammeter)

Green LED back lighting in gauges

New handmade carpets

Whole interior wrapped in ultra high quality German leather w/ Alcantera suede inserts and headliner

Aftermarket “Z” rear mat

Whole interior sound deadened with Dynamat Xtreme

Battery relocated to trunk

High output dry cell battery

Heavier duty late model interior pieces (the 1973 ones were like paper)

Notes:  Could use a new weatherstrip kit since this does leak a little if you drive it through the car wash.   Also there is no radio. wipers are not wired up through the switch. I just never got around to it. and also never hooked up the hazard switch.

Overall this is a great car!  You will not see another one like it anywhere around here.   It is a perfect example of a Japanese classic with modern tech.
