1974 Jensen Healey
Recent Valve Job. Clutch. and 5 Speed Conversion

We have for sale a 1974 Jensen Healey uprated with the rare 5 speed. It also has aftermarket front and rear sway bars as well as Koni shocks which improve the handling immensely. This car is in good mechanical shape with the last owner having just completed a new clutch. full valve job which included all new valves and guides. new timing belt. water pump. and timing gears. This was a California car that was brought to Oregon about 4 years ago. These Jensen Healeys were very expensive and mechanically advanced for their time. The car is powered by an all alloy twin cam four valve Lotus 907 engine that went on to be used in the Lotus Esprit. This 907 engine is one of the first production car 4 valve engines to use a timing belt for cam operation and has potential for high power output when modified. Joe Huffaker won a national SCCA championship for Jensen Healey and reportedly easily got 250hp out of the Lotus two liter power plant. The body on the car is nice and rust free. It has had no serious accident damage and retains its impossible to find steel hood. All the glass is good and the top is decent. The interior is in very good condition with the wood trim in good condition and excellent original seats in original pattern. There is a long list of mechanical work that has been done in the last 4 years which include recent battery. alternator and brake work. The paintwork is older respray and still shiny in the original color. but marred by being key marked down the side and some paint adhesion issues. It looks ok from 20 ft. but will need a repaint sometime in the future if cosmetics are very important to you. Repainting when wanted will be easy since the bodywork is so straight. These Jensen Healeys offer superior performance and when equipped with suspension upgrades like this one has. it will corner exceptionally well. This car is offered at a price that would not buy a decent MGB. We are selling this particular car for an older gentleman who has Parkinson's disease and can no longer drive. so it must go and someone will benefit from his mechanical investments.
