This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 1st Series Pickup is one of the coolest ways to represent the final year of the legendary Advanced Design pickups. It has a freshly serviced small block V8 under the hood. overdrive transmission. A/C interior. and plenty of other upgrades to make it the perfect anytime vintage pickup.


Chevy was giving its now-legendary (and extremely highly sought after) Advance Design pickup its final send off in 1955. So. this body style is the same model year as when GM fully switched to the new Apache design. That gives this one rarity. distinction. and desirability that will likely never go away. Of course. the attractiveness is only heightened on a pickup that looks as good as this. Finished in a nice two-tone green and black. this has a great period-correct hue. but there is the unmistakable shine of a more modern respray. Also. this one goes for the lovers of shine with new bumpers and hood ornament that were installed within the last few months. Plus. the large 18-inch ARE torque thrust-style wheels add boldness to the profile. But beyond the shiny elements and rarity. there is the desirability that comes from a vintage pickup that has crisp sheetmetal and all the right signs of careful ownership over the years.


Inside is a nice blend of old and new worlds. For example. the bench seat has the kind of comfortable cloth insert that wouldn't be too out of place in a '50s pickup. But then you spot the ostrich texture around the edges that give this Chevy a bit of modern style. These nicely match the door panels. visors. and headliner for a bit of fun in the vintage setup. And while the exterior-matching dash and classic gauges have a great original-style feeling. it doesn't take long for you to spot some great upgrades. Yes. those are power window switches you see. And when combined with the modern R134a air conditioning. you realize how easy it will be to go for a cruise with the windows down and never even break a sweat.


Lift the hood to see that this truck has been upgraded to a 350 cubic-inch small block. This V8 has been further enhanced with a four-barrel carburetor. Edelbrock intake. and headers feeding the rumbling stainless dual exhaust. And there's much more to this Chevy that just power. We have all the info on a full service and tune up within the last few months. There's an upgraded independent front suspension with thick sway bar and disc brakes. Plus. this upgraded pickup has power steering and a four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive. Starting to get the full picture?
