This wagon has undergone a cosmetic restoration by the previous owner. It was stripped to bare metal. dents and rust repaired. and repainted in the original white single stage paint. The seats were recovered in vinyl from another car.
The car is extremely clean and shows well. The engine compartment was freshened. The specially colored body moldings have been repainted and are installed on the car as shown in one of the pictures.
A few things that should be addressed on the car include a transmission that slips until warm; a front end alignment to address a pull to the right; and a noisy power steering pump. The original two post radio pod was cut by a previous owner for a DIN radio. The radio in the dash pictures has been removed. I was in the process of installing an Alpine receiver with Bluetooth that will be included. New speaker wires have been run to the front doors but no wiring has been completed to the new radio.
This is a very sharp car that has the expensive paint. body. and interior ready to go. It is also rare in that very few Touring Wagon equipped cars were produced and even fewer that might remain.
Included in the sale are original receipts. AMC literature. the original Touring Wagon seat covers and door panels. and a can of the paint used when refinishing the car. The car is sold as-is with no warranty. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. I will assist in coordination with shipping company for pickup of car in Bismarck. ND.
I really like the car and was able to purchase it from the owner who did the body. paint. and interior after several years of me trying to buy it. The cost of good storage to protect the vehicle and other life issues force me to sell. If you appreciate AMCs and want something that is unlikely to be seen anywhere. this car is for you.
