This car was imported in January 2013 as a nice original and collectible driver. The fussy importer decided he wanted it to be better so the motor was removed and fully rebuilt in Victoria using brand new components to run on unleaded. Much time was spent on detailing the engine by the fastidious chap. ven down to hand turned stainless acorn engine nuts throughout. New finned rocker covers and valley pan were purchased. Seats were re-upholstered in expensive new correct reproduction material sourced from SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon USA.
I purchased this coupe in early 2015 before it came on the market ( and after all the hard work was done! ) . Buick considered this model as their factory Hot Rod. hence the brilliant bucket seat/console/tacho interior. The car was registered in Victoria but has not been registered since then. though it has been regularly driven.
Much money has been spent on the mechanicals. the rebuilt 401 Nailhead and smooth Dynaflow transmission run real good and the drum brakes are firm. The paint shows sign of some age with small blemishes in evidence. but certainly looks fantastic from a couple of meters away. Chrome and stainless are excellent. A small rust repair has been done to the trunk floor in fiberglass. here is one small 5 cent size rust blister on the boot and a couple more on the bottom of the passenger door.
I have recently fitted a set of genuine Buick Rallye wheels which sets off the factory Regal Black paint and red interior. Original rims and white walls and correct hubcaps are available if required. Owners manual. shop manual and brochures are included.
It was difficult to put a price on this car. as there is not much to compare to in Australia. It would suit a buyer of a 1963/64 Chevrolet Impala at a substantial saving of $10. 00 or more. Many of the parts are in fact compatible with this model. I believe I am asking a realistic price but may negotiate by phone or face to face. I WILL NOT DO IT VIA EMAILS. if you are genuinely interested please call me 08 82701826.
Car is located in Aberfoyle Park South Australia. I have sold many of my cars interstate and would be happy to liaise with your shipping company.
I may be interested in a part trade with cash my way . would like a register-able and collectible USA car.
