1961 Ford Falcon

Body:

Old paint job. weathered. cracked and scratched up in places.   I don't see any rust on the body.   The floor pans were replaced by previous owner.    Looks like it was quality work.     I removed the front carpet and the floors can be inspected easily.   Doors shut and open good and the side windows go up and down good.     Rear tailgate window rolls down correctly and gate opens and closes good.     Front windshield looks almost perfect.     I don't see any chips or cracks.    No rust underneath. on frame rails. core support or engine compartment.    Bumpers need to be rechromed to be perfect.   

Chassis. Engine and Drivetrain:

Originally a 6 cylinder car.   All drivetrain was replaced with original V8 drivetrain from a 63 Falcon Futura.    Correct front springs. steering box. suspension arms. etc.    Worn bushings were replaced along with new front shocks.    It has correct brackets for power steering. but it isn't installed. but will be included in the deal.    For my taste the manual steering works just fine.     Rear end has new leaf springs. and 63 V8 Falcon Futura rear end.     Front hubs and rear all have typical five lug bolt pattern.   Wheels have been converted to 14” with the original hub caps and tires are in excellent condition.   

Engine is 260. runs great. good oil pressure.     It has tag and stamping on engine stating it was rebuilt.     I started to research. but haven't finished.    I believe it was rebuilt by a company in San Antonio. Tx.   Only obvious modification to engine is the vintage Edelbrock aluminum finned valve covers and ignition distributor.  Transmission is an all original 4-speed from a V8 63 Falcon Futura.   Generator also has been converted to a “one wire” internally regulated alternator.     New radiator and battery tray installed under the hood.    Exhaust goes thru original manifolds to a new dual exhaust system.   

Interior:

Older restoration.    Headliner and some panels were recovered with checker board pattern. see pics.    Rear carpet is still intact.     Bucket seats don't appear to be original to car.     Underdash AC unit is not hooked up.  

I'll set reserve price at $8500. I may lower reserve price if I need to.    I'm advertising locally. so I reserve the right to cancel auction if buyer bring cash in hand and wants to buy.    Car is sold basically like a running and driveable project car.    I have driven the car on the highway. but it should be registered and pass a safety inspection before it should be considered safe to drive on the highways.    Payment must be cash.   If payment is in a bank or cashier check. I must hold vehicle until check clears.
