1991 CLASSIC ROVER MINI COOPER S 1275 JOHN COOPER 15k SPENT ON REBUILD MK1 SHOW

A chance to own an incredible piece of history. The mini cooper was re-introduced in 1990 and available with a John Cooper S pack at additional cost meaning it was the first cooper ‘S' for over 20 years!!

This particular model (no. 174-s) was registered on 31/05/1991 and came from the factory with the full fat John Cooper S pack. The John Cooper S pack consisted of twin carbs. stage 3 cylinder head. performance exhaust. performance inlet manifold. mg metro spec block and camshaft. uprated suspension and a few other goodies. including a little plaque to go on the drivers cross member to remind you what you're driving.

Now for the exciting bit!. when it came into my hands in 2006 I set about using it to build the ‘ULTIMATE MINI COOPER S'. The plan was to take all the best bits from each generation of ‘s' minis and combine them all to make one perfect version. And now after 7 laborious years of welding/painting/grinding/tuning etc. the car is finally finished!

The car has undergone a total nut and bolt restoration with every panel being replaced/treated to avoid any corrosion in the future. All panels fitted were genuine parts. no expense has been spared on this car. The car has just undergone a professional bare metal re spray and looks a million dollars. I have receipts for around £12. 00 not including buying the car itself and believe it has cost around £15-18k to get the car to the level it is today. The car has just been to minispeed in west byfleet for a full engine tune/setup.

I have a comprehensive folder of the restoration containing receipts/history/photos.

As you can see this is one incredible car for future investment or for something to take along to shows but still remains reliable enough to use in today's climate.

I have only covered around 500 miles (now on 72k) in this car in 7 years but the time has come to sell….

The reason I am selling her is that many late nights and too much of my life has been spent with this car and now I feel that I would not enjoy driving it knowing how many hours and how much money I have put into it. Although I dread the day someone takes it away from me. it's just too good to be sitting in a garage wrapped in cotton wool!!
