FINAL drastic reduction to only $3. 00. o reserve. Initial price was $17. 00. There will be no more reductions. I paid $5. 00 for it. It is worth more than that if parted out! Go touring and racing CHEAP!

AMAZING opportunity!! Lots of past and present photos. just ask. See web link on SCCA racing great from early 1950s-1980s Edward Sandy MacArthur: http://www. ferrariexperts. com/sandy%. ur%20siata. htm Sandy built his first "Sparrow" race car around 1952. He had a long successful stint as a moving force in early SCCA events and racing. A member of the wealthy Chicago area MacArthur family. He died in 1996 and this car was recently removed from the heated family garage. The remaining family members do not know when Sandy built this second rendition of his beloved "Sparrow". to mimic an early 30s English racer. in the form of an early 1930s MG. It is unknown at this point if this car has its own SCCA racing history. It was in a fire sometime before 1980. s we have documentation in the form of a large scrapbook showing Sandy towing the Sparrow into the garage for a ground up restoration. Sandy is standing beside the car when it is towed in for restoration. in 1980. in one of the attached photos. Lots of before and after photos. and some restoration notes. For whatever reason. the car got to its present condition by the time of his death in 1996. Basically completed body wise but for an aluminum cowl and hood. Beautiful completed aluminum bucket seats with as new tan leather backs and cushions. Car also needs the four fenders made but the fender irons are attached to the car. Engine turns out to be a potent circa 1970 Ford Kent 1600 CC engine with a handmade "Sparrow" valve cover. and custom made intake and exhaust manifolds by Sandy. Transmission is listed as a 1973 Ford Pinto. Condition of the motor unknown. but removal of the valve cover looks good. Engine may have been totally rebuilt. as there is no oil in the oil pan. Appears stuck through sitting. Parts are plentiful and reasonable for this motor. as are racing accessories. According to scrapbook notes. the axles and transmission have been rebuilt. Sandy also made a custom 'Sparrow" brass radiator emblem. and a sparrow bird radiator cap! Car has a wheelbase of 92/93 inches and a tread of 48/49 inches. Top of the cowl skeleton down to the ground is only 42 inches! Top of steering wheel to the ground is 48 inches. Appears to have early MG wire wheels and axles. and a custom handmade frame. Tires are brand new Pirelli 4. 00-19 tires. Juice brakes. Should be a quite fast ride! Superb car to finish and show and drive. All restoration work up to the present point appears to be high quality craftsmanship. as you would expect from Sandy. I do not know if it will qualify for SCCA racing events. (You might also adding a 30s to 50s MG engine instead of the current motor. ) Car has GREAT lines and curb appeal!!! Imagine it with polished aluminum cowl. hood. and fenders. contrasting with the aged wood body pieces. red chassis. tan leather seats and brass accessories. including the radiator. huge round gas tank. pedals. levers etc. Top it off with a pair of Brookland windscreens windshields. and you are good to go!! Comes with a bill of sale. but Florida title possibly available for an additional fee. Car is for sale locally. and I reserve the right to end the auction early. George Albright. Ocala.
