The 1964 Lincoln combined the style of the 1961 with the upgrades of the 1965 without the (ugly) grille. I love this car. but she has to go.
A few things have stopped working over the years: the speedometer/odometer stopped working last summer. (says 91. 59. probably closer to 95. 00). the blower motor stopped this August and the driver window is loose at the bottom of the track.
The roof works but needs attention -- it is in the down position. The cloth is new. the Hartz material that looks like canvas without the weight. The hydraulics are good. but the sensors and/or relays need to be adjusted or repaired. The trunk lid opens. the roof expands in to place and that's the cycle with trouble. Whatever tells the locks to extend into the windshield frame does not activate. leaving the trunk lid in the vertical position and the flap folded. The worm screw motors also work.
The door panels. seats and carpeting is relatively new. One of the seat button has been dislocated.
Overall. this car is in good condition. NOT excellent. It runs absolutely beautifully. The transmission is so smooth you can't feel it shift gears. I would call it a 7. 5 out of 10. The paint was done by the previous owner and is a metallic gray; the original being white. The gray roof compliments it perfectly. especially on the black interior.
I am not the one who replaced the original hood ornament! (Hate it. ) I found an original 60s star and was going to install it. but came to realize the previous owner made the hole larger to accommodate the 80s ornament. making it impossible without bodywork and paint for the hood.
I have frequently used this car for parades on the Atlantic City boardwalk in the heat of summer and can tell you without question. the cooling system/engine/suspension/brakes are all working just fine. She cruises on the highway without hesitation.
